Need some motivation to get to the gym. I haven't gone in about a week cause of my new tat. Now I'm in bed listening to some music and trying to amp myself to go. Please help.

I am the same way. I have to push myself. I wish i had a gym partner to push me. That might be the best option. Try to find gym partner to go with you

Yeah, I like the gym partner idea. I'm always more motivated to do something when I have someone else to do it with me.

Also, sometimes it helps to force yourself to go. Don't think about whether you want to go or not because that just holds you back. You just need to tell yourself that you ARE going, no exceptions

A week off, especially depending on where the tat is, is not a bad idea. When I got one of my tats the guy, a lifter, told me to lay off for a week so I didn't stress the skin. I was none-the-worse from laying off.

Response-- to go along with the gym buddy idea, how about having a regular place to meet after exercise class, a coffee or juice place. That way, there is a social reward for going to class.

I always take a week off or close to when I get tattooed.
Two things that motivate me to get back in the gym are
1. Think about how strong you are on the first workout back from rest. You always kill it. Your body is so refreshed!
2. Buy a cute new thing to gym in that shows off that tattoo

Don't lift with a hangover but maybe go do some cardio, you will feel better.
The week or so off will actually do your body some good.
Sometimes the short rest is well worth it.
You protected the new tat now use it for motivation to get to gym and show it off.

Thanks coco and fish. New tattoo symbolizes new beginnings. And I have made some mental goals that I gotta write down. Would like to bench 300, squat 400 5k in 25 min all by February. Oh and a 34 inch waist lol.

Coco unless I take a nap and feel better this would of been my leg routine for today. Squat super set with front lounge 4 sets. Do sprint intervals for 10 min. 15 sec on 45 sec off. Deadlift super with rear lunge 4 sets. 20 sec on 40 sec off burpees. Good mornings super with side lunge 4 sets. Than do a 10 minute jog (I'm not good at endurance as of now so I would take breaks after every other minute or so and walk) then to single exercises leg press, leg extension, leg curl, 3 sets. Then do some sort of jump exercise or just kicking combo on the heavy bag.

If that happens today I may puke. Actually I may puke now thinking of it lol.
