Do you learn from your mistakes? Or do you feel you're stuck in some sort of vicious cycle?

I'm actually starting to learn. I haven't abused any meds in three weeks. I've actually been taking them the way I'm supposed to. It helps that while visiting my family my husband was dispensing my meds for me every day. But even now that I've gotten back here, and have my meds, I haven't been because I actually want to be with my family and promised my husband I wouldn't.

The last two weeks went so well, and I've been feeling so much better, and even when I started feeling weird I actually took haldol willingly (I have the pills as needed, for if I start feeling weird), and felt better almost immediately. My husband wants me to join them up there as soon as possible. I just have to figure out my med and doctor situation, so I'm talking to my caseworker on Wednesday about it.

Yay! I'm learning! I was stuck in a cycle, but now I'm breaking free from it.

I kinda have started learning from my mistakes. I'm owning up to a lot more and I'm willing to try new ways to help me. I think doing some CBT has helped me though

That's great that you feel you are feeling better! I'm taking steps towards getting out of a vicious cycle. There's some things I'm not ready to change, although I probably should...but at least I'm thinking about my choices more instead of acting completely out of impulse.

Lately, I feel I've made progress in learning from my mistakes. Sometimes it's two steps forward, one step back. My progress goes out the window when manic, but I'm thankful my pdoc is doing a lot to help me since I'm recovering from an episode and all the messes I made for myself while I was in that state. Trying to stay hopeful, although I need to build up my strength again so I don't repeat the destructive cycle again.

I have learned to pick my battles....to know when to walk away from a friendship/relationship....to set boundaries. These things make it were I have gotten a lot better with repeating the same old same.
