I feel like I'm going crazy. I've slept probably 3 hours a day for the last four days and not falling asleep until after the sun is up. This is making me very irritated and I lay there in bed just clenching my teeth because I'm so worked up. I've tried Benadryl, extra seroquel, old saphris I had laying around. Nothing is working! And last night I did have the tv on as usual when I sleep. My bf was next to me snoring and I had given up on sleep when I seen 4:00am on the clock. Then from the living room where my bfs phone was plugged in for the night, I heard ringing. So I woke him up thinking it was his alarm. He looked at me like I was crazy, the ringing stopped by now, and he just went back to sleep. This morning I woke him again and asked "what was going off on your phone so late last night?" He looks at me like I'm nuts and says "my phone is on silent babe." Right away I thought "uh oh". So then I finally fell asleep at 9am for a few hours. Then as I was watching tv I kept having to mute it because I swore I heard something in the condo hallway. Nothing. Then I realized I'm hearing the quietist background music in the show I was watching but it was driving me nuts! But it really was so quiet that no one would of been paying attention unless someone pointed it out. But to me it was loud!!

Now I'm BP2... I rarely get full on mania. As a matter of fact it's probably been 7 years since I can remember. I mostly get deep dark depression and hypo and mixed but mania is rare for me. So I'm not really thinking this is mania... but hopefully just signs I'm exhausted. Now I just want to sleep tonight and hopefully this will all stop with the sounds?

I have an appt with pdoc next Tuesday. I'm hoping to hang on till then and I've even thought about going to urgent care but I doubt they'd give me what I would need.

what dose of Seroquel did you try? I know that at 300 it puts me out like a tranqulizer.

A pill and a half so 450mg. I did fall asleep pretty good last night but didn't sleep long. I sneezed at 6am and woke my cockatoo up so now I'm up! I can tell by how heavy my eyes are that I didn't sleep well or long enough. This is a really crappy feeling Hearing things. Sensitive to sounds. No sleep.

My mind races, which causes me to lose sleep. Couple that with sensitive hearing, I have to sleep with foam ear plugs. I get a big package of them from CVS. They do work to block out noise. If my mind is calm, and with the ear plugs, I can sleep.

maybe you could just call in to your pdoc and tell her/him and they might change something a bit before they see you next week.
sorry, not getting enough sleep sucks.

Try taking a highly absorbable magnesium like magnesium chloride, citrate or malate along with calcium, vitamin D3 and K. DON'T take cheap magnesium oxide as the body can't absorb it so all it does is cause raging diarrhea.

Meds block the body's ability to utilize magnesium, and low magnesium levels cause insomnia. I was where you are for about 10 years due to low magnesium levels along with the fact that my body doesn't hold on to it. Once I got adequate amounts of magnesium, my insomnia improved to the point where I now sleep through the night at least half the time. I do have other health issues that have sleep disturbance as a key feature so getting enough sleep is huge in my life, and magnesium has been a lifesaver.

An easy way to get magnesium is to soak in epsom salts as it's magnesium sulfate. You need to soak for a good 20 minutes with a couple of cups of epsom salts. You'll be amazed at how it will relax you. Be sure and take the calcium and vitamins D3 and K as they work together.

Your hearing sensitivity could be related to low magnesium as light sensitivity is a sign of magnesium deficiency.

Here's a good article listing the symptoms of magnesium deficiency:

Symptoms of Low Magnesium | Ancient Minerals

I fell back asleep around noon for two more hours and woke up feeling way worse. I feel sick from exhaustion and I can't even eat to take my geodon. I feel like my eyes are being held open like that kid in the clockwork orange lol. I'm going to force myself to eat so I can take my meds here shortly. I decided I really don't want to risk going to the ER and maybe going back to IP if they think I'm getting manic. But if this goes on much longer we shall see

I was given melatonin in the hospital to help me sleep. I take it at home now and it helps.
