As far as I know, just MDD with psychosis and anxiety (likely GAD).

My grandma has had a major depressive episode with psychosis, and she has bad anxiety to the point she fidgets a lot and does anything to escape the uncomfortable situation. Sometimes I wonder if my dad has undiagnosed ADHD.
Thanks for this!

Pretty much all of them. All the major well-known as well as the lesser known ones. We're a mixed bag of nuts.

BP - I'm BP2 and my mom is probably an undiagnosed BP. Her mom suffered from depression and her father was a "gentle" alcoholic. He'd simply drink until he passed out, not a mean or confrontational sort. He was a WWII guy and never really talked about the war. I think it ate him up......he may have been a PTSD candidate but never diagnosed. He was a minesweeper so he saw plenty of front line action. He once had to hide under a bridge for two days......that's the only story he ever told.

There's no history on my dad's side.

Bipolar and depression. Anxiety issues too. Alcoholism, though I've been spared that one.

Depression and anxiety definitely run on my moms side, no ones ever said anything about mental illness on my dads side. Not sure how I was the one that ended up with bipolar disorder.

I think my dad is undiagnosed ADHD. Me and three out of four sisters have BP. Two of us are B1 with schizoafficive. The other two are BP 2. On my mom's side there is BP, schizophrenia and alcoholism.

Likely bipolar grandfather who was also an alcoholic & probably had PTSD also (war vet who ultimately commited suicide), anxiety/depression & eating disorders on both parental sides.

I have quite the family tree. No one was ever diagnosed. My last psy had me fill out a family tree. This was just when my mother happened to tell me that my cousin may very well really be my aunt, which I told the doctor. She told me a story of something my grandfather said about it that was so compelling to believe that was true. Now my mom denies ever saying it. Sad, suicide and death stories...funny, delusional stories... lots of characters. I never thought of them as mentally ill. Kind of assumed everybody was like them.

My Grandma was 'very nervous', was given an illegal supply of anti anxiety pills from a pharmacist forever, walked around with a baggie of assorted pills. That had to have been GAD.

Nothing really documented. I think there is a tendency toward problems with depression. We suspect my grandmother may have been on the bipolar end, but that was before the days when that generation would have ever gone for help or to be diagnosed.

The whole fam damily except one member whom I jokingly refer to as the white sheep of the family. The usual... life long depression, social anxiety, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, OCD.

It turns out Anxiety runs in my father's family. As for my mother's side mental illness seems to run abound. I am sure my mother was significantly mentally ill but I am unsure what. Her brother was very ill. He was clearly delusional by the time he reached his 50s. He might even have been schizophrenic. Whatever it was, it was acute. His children, my cousins, seem to have had issues too. His daughter has been diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety and the sons at times seem to suffer that too.

I am very concerned about my children. I recognize in my daughter some of my own behavior while it is obvious my son suffers with Anxiety including some major OCD.

Fear of death for sure. My mum used to tell me she had an odd form of death anxiety where she thought she'd die everyday at 3 P.M. Mine manifested as health anxiety, and I've diagnosed myself with a plethora of illnesses over the years. Meds helped me somewhat, as did the self-help methods in my signature. But it's a constant battle.

Depression and anxiety, and my mom recently told me about a cousin she has with schizophrenia. I had no idea.

My dad's mother has bipolar. My dad wasn't diagnosed but he had the traits of it. Alcoholism on my mother's side. They all smoked like chimneys.

It feels like I am the only one.

I know my sister had post-partum depression after her twins were born in 2001. I don't know if she was medicated or not; she may have been, because we had the same OB/GYN and I had a baby in 2001 too and was given Zoloft during and after my pregnancy. That's when the Andrea Yeats story was happening
Possible trigger:
. So, our doctor was especially vigilent about post partum depression. I was not diagnosed with bipolar until 2006.

My dad is an alcoholic and has been since time out of mind. He is 69 now and I remember back to the mid- to late 80's when he was drinking. My aunt (his sister) is anorexic and bulemic.

I'm convinced that my mom has something, but goes undiagnosed. My guess is that she has some sort of personality disorder, but she never will get diagnosed, so that's that.

On my ex-husband's side, his first cousin (our age) has schizophrenia. I remember him being heavily drugged one year at our family vacation house. He was very ill. I'll skip the details as they would be very triggering. I only include it here because they would affect my kids.

There may be others who take anti-depressants that I don't know anything about, or maybe even bipolar. I can't be the only one.

My mother was undiagnosed but I believe strongly that she was bipolar. My grandmother spent some time in a sanitarium for depression; my sister has depression and anxiety; a cousin was bipolar; my oldest son has PTSD. Alcoholism also runs rampant on both sides of the family, myself included. So we're pretty much a bowlful of mixed nuts.

I know for sure that my dad, sister, and cousin (on my dad's side) all had depression. My dad is still being treated for it, has been taking antidepressants for 10+ years. Idk about my sis and cousin. I'm also pretty sure my sister has anxiety, and I have the same suspicion for someone I know is a relative (again on my dad's side) but I'm not sure how exactly I'm related to her, lol.
Everyone in my family is pretty closed off about these kinds of things, so it wouldn't surprise me to find out if more of my family members struggle or had struggled with mental illness and I just don't know about it. My immediate family lives 20+ hours away from the entire rest of our family, so I don't see how they function day-to-day. Everyone puts on their best show for Christmas!
