I take 500mg L-Tryptophan at night along with 750 mg GABA. I take another 750 GABA, 500 mg L-Glutamine and 1000 mg DLPA in the morning. The L-Tryptophan converts to 5HTP in the body.

I have been on this regimen for about a month. It has replace my previous supplement regime which helped improve my symptoms (over 2-3 years), but did not ever really elevate me entirely out of depression. My previous supplements also had amino acids, but not as much.

The regime I listed above has improved my mood level dramatically. I am at baseline now, which has been a long time in the coming - years. It's lovely. I'm happy, energetic and resilient. I can tell when things happen that would normally send me into a downward spiral, and it just sort of rolls off my back, even if it makes me frustrated, sad or angry. My emotions/mood feel commensurate with whatever stimuli I'm experiencing, if that makes sense.

I want to thank you, LucyG, for sharing the information you have on this forum. It inspired me to look into it further, since it's important to me to try to work with my brain chemistry as naturally as possible. I'm so glad to have found this combination - I'm cautiously optimistic about it as a long-term solution for me, realizing that it's only been a little over a month so far.

I'm extremely happy to hear how well you're doing as that's what happened to me as well. It took me a while to get the right combination, but now that I have it, it's amazing how stable my mood is, and like you said, I'm also happy and able to cope with life. I hope others will research this, and realize they can feel better.

That's scary....did you check your texts? That could be potentially disastrous. (((Hugs)))

I looks like I was meaning to send a msg after I took my sleep meds lol! But for some reason it ended up here. I have no memory of it and it looks like I was half asleep. I feel so dumb lol

But anyway... I've been taking 200mg in the morning and 200 at night. And it's regulated my sleep so well that I was able to cut down on my seroquel! For once I'm sleeping good from this stuff. It's a miracle for me! However I read that 5htp only stays in your system for a few hours so you can either take multiple doses through the day or get the timed release. I ordered the time release now too. I fit every symptom of low serotonin and now it seems this supplement is helping so much.

No worries, reading it last night and trying to figure it out provided a little giggle that was very much needed. It also reminded me that *I* might need to call it a night and get some sleep(!)
So you did good without even knowing it!
Thanks for this!
