I just had an appointment and my pnurse told me my vitamin d levels are way low and prescribed me a supplement and told me I'll start feeling a lot better when I start taking it. This is interesting. I hope it works!

Ha! I was just writing in another thread that I feel like my depression lifted today like a lighting bolt. Well I live in a very northern region and it's also been cloudy and raining for weeks. Well when sitting around being a slug this morning the sun came out and I decided to be a slug basking in sun light. Damned if not an hour later I was skipping.

Anyway... the point is that I likely need some D.

My vitamin ad was low too. I take a supplement now. I have a happy light as well that I'm going to pull out as soon as I figure out where I can put it.

Yep I take vitamin d supplements too. It's very common for people to be low in vitamin d because of our lifestyles and season change.

I have heard that people take magnesium. What does a magnesium deficiency look like?

I was given EXTREMELY high prescription doses of vitamin D and was told it would alleviate several physical symptoms as well as mental. I took them for years on and off (when levels dropped again) and I never had any relief from them unfortunately. We are all different however and our illness not only presents in unique ways, but can also be caused by different things. I hope you find the Vitamin D helpful.

I started taking for Fibromyalgia pain but it also helps keep my bipolar aggravation down a bit.

Here's an article on the symptoms of low magnesium:

Symptoms of Low Magnesium | Ancient Minerals

You need to take a form of magnesium that is highly absorbable so it doesn't just give you diarrhea. Magnesium chloride, citrate and malate are all good forms. Avoid magnesium oxide/hydroxy as it goes straight through you causing raging diarrhea. You need to take calcium along with vitamin D3 & K as the 4 nutrients work together.

Christina, have you seen this article about fibro possibly being caused by a mineral deficiency? I have a variation of fibro and CFS--I have all the symptoms of fibro but not the achiness along with the fatigue of CFS without the chronic flu-like symptoms. When I started taking magnesium malate is when I started feeling less sick. I had a lot of what I called 'sick sick' feeling that was a side-effect of my meds. Once I got off them, the 'sick sick' feeling went away. And the more magnesium I took, the fewer symptoms I had.

I take D3, 2000 IU daily along with 1200 IU of fish oil twice daily. (I use the coated type to avoid the seal burps.) I also use a HappyLight for 30 min. each morning. So far, so good---no depression.

It does help, my regular doctor and Pdoc never said anything.

My T did so much research , he has never seen anyone with the high level of chronic pain, I'm always at a 7 or above. Many of my IP's were due to the pain and I felt no reason to stay alive.

He is a proponent for vitamins and suppliments , the combo I have now helps me across the board.

I chronic fatigue also , I'm sorry you have to deal with it .

I think in many cases people do not take time to find some suppliments that can help with any mental or physically issue.

Now a days people are just getting slapped with heavy hitter drugs before a more natural approach can possibly help.

I'm not against meds but with the types of foods we all eat now, honestly isn't giving us what our body's needs to function properly.

Suppliments take time to start showing improvement so it's a good reason to stay on them for at least a couple months.

Thanks Lucy ❤️
