Trump doesn't care for the vast majority of people who voted him. I'm hoping the next 4 years don't completely destroy the country. The HRC people and the Trump people are increasingly living in different countries, in terms of lifestyle, outlook, ideology, etc.

HRC wasn't/isn't perfect, but she was rational. Reasonable. Pragmatic. Maybe somewhat progressive, if only to appease the Sanders people.

What happens when Trump's supporters end up worse off than before he went into office? Are they going to realize they voted in a monster, or are they going to take it out on "The Other"--Muslims, other minorities, women, liberals, etc. ?

Bush behaved himself the first 4 years....didn't let his freak flag fly and falsely accuse WOMD until second term. Let's hope Trump behaves the first 4

I can have a very dark sense of humor, but this is beyond its realm. This is not some game. It is not about political party affiliation. It's not simply "sending a message" to Washington. It was choosing to attempt to hate our way out of all problems real or perceived. He can say what he wants to foment the masses, but make no mistake, there is no "we". He serves the party of one. Himself. There lies the way of the dictator. The despot.

It all starts with making already marginalised people the scapegoats.

I'd normally be consoled by the saving graces of checks and balances. I'm not so sure this time.

I'd already been watching my situation close in on me. The only hope I've held onto for the last 3 years is fading fast. And that was before this.

I really can't say more than that at this time.

This is the end of democracy....and it's being met with thunderous applause. <--modified Star Wars quote for any fans out there. I'm in shock. May stay in bed all day and keep wiping my tears. We need to improve education and increase college admissions or this crap will keep happening.

I voted, but I'm wondering why I bothered. Before our polls out west even closed, the election was called in that monster's favor. I am truly afraid.

I blame Trumps father....if it wasn't for that "small loan" of one million dollars he gave trump back in the day, we might not be in this mess.

Make America Great Again.

You mean, like when black people couldn't use the same water fountains? When LGBTQ people were routinely jailed and/or beat up? When domestic violence and rape were just part of being female?

I've heard left wingers say that Democracy has been dead in USA for a while now. Apparently, most Americans don't want democracy, anyway.

I guess America had a good run.

I hate Trump with a passion because I think he's a total asshole, but in retrospect, it's easy to see why he got elected. For starters, the guy isn't politically correct; he's very direct. A lot of politicians like to dance around issues instead of saying what they want to say.

See, we live in a world where political correctness has gotten to an extreme, and people are sick of it. I mean, we can't even refer to white people as white. It's "Caucasian". That kind of stuff. So in comes Donald Trump who says "f#ck society! I'm going to say what I want! People deserve the truth!" blah blah blah. All that brainwashing crap.

The other thing is that a lot of people can't trust Hillary 100%. Is she better than Trump? Hell yeah. But the email controversy thing is something that didn't sit well with a lot of people. I think that hurt her more than anything, especially when the investigation was stupidly reopened right before elections. That killed her

And btw, Hillary only visited 37 states. Trump visited all 50. I think that has an impact on some level.

Another problem is that the GOP has long convinced people to vote against their own interests. False consciousness, to the max.

This is the best post. "Make America Great Again". Yeah....talk to black people from the 60's and see if they want to go back. Talk to women before we got the vote and we allowed to work and get paid a decent wage. Talk to LBGT before we JUST BEGAN making progress for them. We were becoming great and now it's in the toilet and replaced with A toupee that needs to be ran through a strong car wash.

I'm just trying not to have the mentality that we are doomed before anything even happens. It's not healthy. Maybe he's all bark and no bite. I hope. Maybe he will be better than we think.

Just seems like a step backward socially for Americans to elect someone like Trump to the highest office. I do know that a lot of people who have voted for him did so for other reasons than what jumps first to mind. So I'm trying so hard today to believe my fellow Americans had good intentions.

I'm announcing my candidacy for president next election. I'm broke so need to gather funds. If trump can win, perhaps so can I. My past is less damning than his I think. I may start a gofundme. I need the job more than Trump does anyways. I do like pressing buttons (likes and hugs) so maybe having access to that nuclear button wouldn't be good. I will think about this and get back to you all once I'm sure I can handle it.

Maybe he's a secret democrats. His running mate is scary as heck to me though....he wants to run the country on Christian values. Doesn't anyone remember the dark ages? I'm already under enough scrutiny and don't need anymore.

Check his political party record. The guy doesn't even know which party he is from.

Republican (1987–1999, 2009–2011, 2012–present)
Democratic (before 1987, 2001–2009)
Reform (1999–2001)
Independent (2011–2012)

This doesn't change the fact that he sexually harasses women and young girls. I was sexually harassed in the workplace at 15 and again at 17. The guy locked me in a room with the impression he was giving me my check and when I tried to get out he began groping me from behind and sucking on my neck. He must have been in his 50's. People just don't get it unless its happened to them.

Sorry that happened to you Some men are just sick! Sick, sick, sick.

I don't like the way he treats women either. I also swear to god he's attracted to his own daughter. He keeps making sexual remarks about her.

Suuuuuuper creepy

I can't stand behind someone who says and does inappropriate sexual things. He comes across as a predator tbh. (Sorry if anybody here likes him.)

And people thought Obama's college days pot smoking was bad? Pot is totally harmless, but Trump's behavior is not

All I have to say, is I'm angry, sad, scared etc. This is the end of America as we know it, anyone that says it's going to be okay doesn't know what it is like to be a minority of any kind (race, religion, sexuality, disability, gender etc). It is truely a sad day in our country, we are no longer united, but divided, in my opinion our flag no longer means anythjn to me (I won't burn it though, or stomp on it). The future to me is very bleak, I see things only getting worse under Trump. It's like we're living in 1930s Germany to me and look how that turned out, history is repeating itself. Well America you had a great run as a county, it's sad to see it all end this way...

I'm so physically sick mulling about at home that my mother and I are planning on heading to our church's post election gathering to meditate and instill tranquility and harmony in my chakras. The stress of this election has taken a toll on me physically and I could use a spiritual cleansing. There is also a breaking of bread and a meal to instill unity and togetherness and that all are equally respected at the table.

I think it could be very healing for many of us. Nobody needs to hug if they feel uncomfortable....I'm a hugger by nature....long heart felt hugs which come from my soul. When I hug on here, it is my soul reaching out to comfort your souls....it means something more than just hitting a button on a screen. It may not be much and I wish I had more to offer but just know I care about anyone who is suffering right now. (((Hugs to those who need them)))

I wish the same thing (and I'm not even a hugger), at least we're all united here about how we feel about the election. Hugs to everyone
