I think you're lucky (not that they blocked you and made you feel bad about it), that's horrible of them, but the fact you don't get many bad comments about your illness.

I don't know, but i'd say you're 1 of the few people that don't.. bipolar stigma is so bad, I should know, I always get horrible comments about it.

a mannic day for me.. feels like a mixture of having the affects of the drug the guy from limitless has (all your brain is their, so their litirally is no limit to what you can do), and I guess also a journey of discovery.

I mean, who would have ever thought i'd be able to make a pirate sword, a pirate uniform and a shoulder parot? (I know in a normal state I hate art). I guess also because I have all my brain open, it's a chance to sort of explore other interests/ tallents I didn't know I have

practicing circus stunts, practicing to be a magician, singing (which I totally can't do in a normal state), quoting the bible (again, I can't do that in a normal state), and just being weird, I guess. that's what my day is like I suppose

oh right, and coming up with weird food combinations
(mud on toast anyone?)

fun while it lasts, or it can be.

what is 1 thing you've learned since having bipolar (either about yourself) or about the world we live in.

Since my Dx this year I see people through a new set of eyes. Far more thoughtful that anyone and everyone we meet is likely going through some struggle at one time or another therefor I try to be more understanding.

Q. Ok here's a light hearted question, who's your favourite actor?

I've hated everything I've tried so far. Well except the cipralex at the start, sent me on an enjoyable manic 2 weeks but ran out and doc won't give it to me again.

Q. Most effective med you've ever been on?

Clozaril and Emsam.

What med have you hated most but still taken because it was helping you?

Q. Do you "chat/post" here on PC more about your day to day struggles than telling those closest to you?

I really do. My family thinks I am okay most of the time even when I am screaming inside. I feel it's easier to post here than tell them anything. It would just make them worry.

Q : Are you up and down most of the day lately, or just level?

Pretty level.

Q: do you remember the time you first took a bipolar drug and thought "this will make me gain weight"?

Not really because I was put on lithium while still only dx'd with MDD. I had no idea it would cause weight gain and for me it caused a LOT. So when I started depakote 6 months later I was 60 lbs heavier and wasn't worried about it as much as I was about feeling better. Funny enough depakote didn't cause me to gain, at least on the lower doses.

What is your weight control strategy?

Right now, it's eating healthier and staying within a particular calorie range using MyFitnessPal. It seems to be working. Fortunately, I'm not on any big weight-gain meds.

What is your biggest challenge as a person living with BP?

The mood shifts to be honest. Sometimes I can just burst into tears or laugh hysterically. It can cause like emotional whiplash I think.

When was the last time you were in the hospital?

No although I did start to hope that clozapine was going to magically stop me from ever having another episode.

Do you trust your pdoc's recommendations?

Nope, he's well educated but just doesn't get it.

Do you hide things from your pdoc and T?

Therapist sometimes although I think most of the time he knows. Pdoc does usually know and I don't have the same issues with her I sometimes have with my therapist that affect what I want to tell him.

Do you have disagreements with your therapist/pdoc?

Hi welcome to PC! I'm sure you'll find it very helpful. Just a suggestion, you would likely get more answers to your question if you started it as it's own thread as it's a very specific question and I'm sure others may have questions for you. This particular thread is a bit more of a game. You have to answer the last question posed and then ask a new one. I have read a couple of books written by psychologists with BP so it's certainly possible. Good luck!
Thanks for this!

I don't have either yet though I did meet a pdoc in June and I disagreed with his approach. He told me basically to decide myself how much medication to take.

Q. How many pdocs/t's have you had?

Coffee sometimes but more I blow money very easily on books for my e-reader and songs from iTunes. Dangerous shopping lol.

Q. What's the most you've spent on 1 article of clothing or shoes?
(I bought a $1000 Canada Goose coat last winter when manic and not just 1 but 2!!!)

Well this was 25 years ago but I bought some Doc Martin's that costs as much as 1/4 of our rent at the time.

Q: what's the last movie you've watched? (Me: The Black Stallion)
