How do you find a non-squeamish Team? I have an idea I'll be looking for a new team come the 8th. I haven't even outlined all my issues yet.

I haven't been told I'm high risk. Sometimes I would say I am and other times I am not. Do they treat it different? Do you find it hard to find someone willing to "take you on"

When I called around and made an appointment with a private therapist the first thing she said (in kinda a frantic way) when I told her I was bipolar was "are you taking your meds". She sounded a little scared. But not so much once she met me.

I think I would be considered maybe a borderline risk only because of my thoughts of suicide without actually trying to carry them out, if that makes sense.

I am , I have a huge amount of insight generally.

I can go from riding out episodes fine and then one might hit and I am suicidal in a matter of hours.

I'm lucky tho...my T and Pdoc are amazing and I can get help ASAP when needed.

If I tell my husband I need to go North he helps me pack a bag and hit the road 100 miles later I am in a great IP.

Having a safety plan is so so important.

T's been on crisis mode since I met her. She had me fill out a crisis plan when we first met and she's ramped up ever since. Last time she said "If I don't take meds I'm setting myself up for the hospital". So to calm her I got meds. This time she told me I'm high risk and needed IOP or PHP. Pnurse wanted me on 4 meds to start. They're acting like my hair's on fire. DH is coming with me next time. He thinks it's the way I speak nonchalant about my issue that is getting to them.

I think IOP would help you to be honest.

You don't always see how unwell you can be at times. Read back some of your threads... It's really obvious you're disconnected and ignoring huge red flags.

I think you're team is right to be worried.

Stay safe (((hugs)))

You have said some concerning things recently. Do you think IOP could be helpful or just flat out no?

It's a DBT program. With all my concerns / issues I don't see me staying in the program more than a day if that. I don't see me getting out of the program either because I'm always "high risk".

I am considered HIGH RISK quite often which usually leads to going IP. IP helped bring me back to a safe place, like where I am at now. However, when stable or in a mild episode I am not considered high risk and it is all managed at home.

You do sound like you are at high risk and I hope you can commit to going IP or at least IOP asap. It is only once we are 'well' that we can look back and see things clearly. This episode will pass more quickly you get intensive treatment. And above all you must stay safe.

Learning coping skills from the IOP can reduce your risk. I can't say if it's possible for you to use coping skills only and no longer need meds but the coping skills can definitely lower your risk of ip.

They would never tell me I am high risk but I get strong suicidal urges. I go to a clinic and they don't panic about my suicidal urges.
