I take so many meds that I use a weekly am/pm box to keep my pills straight. Actually I use two so I only have to fill them every two weeks. Going to the pharmacy is another story since they aren't all refillable at the same time. How do you organize your meds?

I have them lined up in a certain order in their bottles on a shelf in the kitchen, and I keep track of AM, Noon, AM/PM and PM dosages by turning bottles on their sides or upside-down to keep track of which ones I have taken or are next (such as at Noon) or still later (PM). For a certain med I used to take every four hours throughout the day, I used the hands of a non-working clock to keep track of dosages. For my OTC supplements, I use old prescription bottles I fill with dailies every couple of weeks and then take one of those bottles along with my one Noon med each day.

I put my meds in a pill organizer that I refill every week.

As for picking up prescriptions from the pharmacy...I'm there 2 or 3 times every week. They know my name by now.

Weekly AM/PM pill organizer. I'm sure I'd forget otherwise.

My husband is holding my meds for me right now. I don't have trouble keeping them straight.

All my RX meds and Supliments are stored in a bag together. I get alerts from the pharmacy when meds need to be refilled....otherwise I might run out. I use two separate weekly pill organizers that look different from each other and different size, one for am the other for pm.

Right now I have a tub full of bottles and every 2 weeks I fill 2 (1) week pill boxes. Starting Jan. 1 I'm going on mail order pharmacy so will be getting everything in 3 months supply and will have to wrap my mind around the new system of ordering/having things when I need them and having much bigger vials (need a bigger tub).

I use a weekly box, my meds were scattered through out the month . My pharmacist was able over about 2 months to get mine down to everything once a month at the beginning , my Valium is the only one we are still moving a day or two each refill. Soon I will only need to go once! Thank god !

I also keep a separate one for all my vitamins, so many of those lol

I'd never make it without my AM/PM pill minders and alarms on my phone to remind me to take my meds. I'm on so much stuff for my blood pressure, diabetes, supplements etc. in addition to my psych meds that I'd forget easily if I didn't have them all right in front of me.

I use an AM/PM pill organizer. I carry a small pill vial on my keychain to keep my noon med, and fill that at the same time as the weekly box.

Don't worry about the pharmacy knowing you by name - that happens to a lot of us. The pharmacy I use (CVS) has an online tool which allows you to synchronize the refill time of some of the meds. This doesn't work for the controlled substances I'm on, but it does work for my other meds.

Just was at the pharmacy picking up my daughter"s bcps. Took a bit to fill but we had breakfast and hung out then got them- no copy! Last time they weren't covered at all.

I usually use a am/pm weekly pill box and fill 2 at a time so I do it twice a month. Without the pill box I forget if I've taken my meds so I often don't take them because I don't want to risk overmedicating or when I'm really bad I take a double dose because I'm more afraid of missing. I've been going through a lot of med changes this year and keep forgetting or too sick to organize my pill buckets which isn't working out well. Tonight I will fill them and be done with all this guess work. Even when filling my pill box I mess up and get it wrong sometimes....but it's better than forgetting all together in most cases.
Thanks for this!

I mostly have AM and PM meds. I take them from the bottle in AM and again in PM. I have a morning and a bedtime ritual.

----response I finally bought a craft box at Walmart that is much bigger than the pillboxes you can buy. It shows all the meds for a week with spaces for each day and various times per day. You can also see through the lid which is really vital.
I have a separate craft box for my main supply of meds with each med in a different cubby. My box also has space for my physical meds, vitamins, and supplements which I always clear w my doc.

I was okay with just a pill holder for each day which wasn't too complicated. My husband, on the other hand, has trouble keeping straight which pills to take at what point in the day (he has lots of meds for a medical issues besides some psych meds), so he has a pill box for each day of the week that is divided into morning, noon, supper, and bedtime. There is a separate box for each day of the week, so he fills the whole week on Saturday nights, figures out what meds he needs to call in then which gives him plenty of time for refills before he fills the tray the next Saturday. He also has alarms set on his phone to remind him to take his meds throughout the day.

After my sister had her bone marrow transplant, she was on something like 30 pills a day. They literally gave her a fishing tackle box because standard sized pill boxes weren't nearly large enough.

I keep my AM & PM meds in separate drawers. I have one med I take I take twice daily - I put it on a shelf, & put my PRN klonopin in another room. I'm usually good about remembering to take them, so I guess I use a packrat method of doing things.

I just line my bottles in order from left to right for morning on the left and in the middle and my night on the right, easy for me to remember and they're on my dresser so I see them at all times. The only thing I have to worry about is dropping a pill on the floor since I have a cat.

I have a multi-time weekly pillbox that I fill. That way I know when to call in a refill.

I use two different pillboxes. Each has 7 trays with 4 compartments each, 28 compartments in each pillbox. I take my meds twice a day, so each box holds two weeks worth of meds. I get all my meds at the first of the month and fill up both pillboxes at once, 28 days of meds filled all at once! I'd never be able to keep track otherwise.

I have my medications blister/bubble packed by the pharmacy. Here in Canada it is a service free of charge. It is easy for me to glance at the card and see if I have or have not already taken my medication. I avoid accidentally taking two doses of medications as a result. I also can avoid the chore of organizing all my pills myself; for which I used to make mistakes.
