Do you take anti-inflammatory meds and why?

I sometimes take ibuprofen for sinus and stress headaches. I try to switch between it and acetaminophen (Tylenol).
Thanks for this!

I take 2 Alleve every morning for severe back pain. My pain doc okay'd it but I worry that they will eat up my organs at some point, I've already been taking them regularly like this for some 5 years and plan on continuing because they've helped a lot.

I love how pain docs will prescribe OTC pain meds, as much as you want, short and especially long-term side effects be damned, but will not prescribe opioids. I know the reasoning behind it, but still find it ironic.
Thanks for this!

Yes, I take Advil when my back pain is really bad & I know I have to do something physical that day. I also take it when I am getting a bad headache or migraine.
Thanks for this!

I don't as I'm on coumadin. I only can take Tylenol and a migraine script (sumatriptan) for pain.

You know, Tylenol is not an anti-inflammatory. It's an anti-pyretic and pain reliever. True anti-inflammatories are aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen. Until my orthopedic surgeon stops them and/or sends me to a pain management specialist, I take percocet, 10/325 (oxycodone/acetaminophen, lumbar fusion). Occasionally I rotate in one of the anti-inflammatories.

Ibuprofen is my go to for pain. Sinus, herniated disk in my neck, blah blah blah. I don't always get along with my body. It fights back

I usually take naproxen for pain. I haven't had much lately except for my back, and I just muddle through that.

I was taking ibruprofen 800 for shoulder pain 3x a day. Primary doc took my blood pressure and it was 164/92 so he said take it only when in pain.

Try this, I am looking in on it more.

Quote:
Astaxanthin: One of the most effective oil-soluble antioxidants known. It has very potent anti-inflammatory properties and in many cases works far more effectively than many NSAIDs. Higher doses are typically required and one may need 8 mg or more per day to achieve this benefit.
