Hi,

I'll be flying from Copenhagen to San Francisco in a few days. There's a 9 hour time difference. I've never had any problems with jet lag or taking my usual meds (birth control, allergy meds and vitamins) since I've just taken them at my usual time (evening) and just "ignored" the time differnece. I think I did the same with my anti depressants last year....

BUT now I'm on lithium, lamitrigine and quetiapine..... I'll just be taking the quetiapine when I want to go to sleep, but I can't figure out what to do with the other pills.

I see a few options and I think I like option 2 the best:
1) Take it at my usual time - 10pm in Denmark = 1pm in California. So instead of taking the meds before bed I take them around lunch time?

2) "ignore" the 9 hour change and wait till it's 10pm in San Francisco. That means I'll take my meds 9 hours late? Is that an issue??

3) I try to take them a few hours later in the evning and in a few days or so the time might fit okay?

Any experince with this??

Thanks,
Rebekka

I've completely missed my pills before and taken them in the morning without a problem. If anything, you birth control being late was a bigger problem I think. Good luck.

It's not a problem to take any of your list of meds on a different schedule, since they have long half-lives and will still be in your system long enough for you to ride it out. The only one which could cause a difference is the Seroquel due to its immediate sedative properties. If I were you, I would ignore the time difference and just take them on your normal schedule local time.

When I've traveled I just 'ignore' the time change. I think you'll be fine.

By the way, Welcome to California
Thanks for this!
