Whenever I see a scenario on tv where someone's in their therapists office I think "I need a therapist like that!" They're always blunt and to the point and tell the patient exactly what they need to do etc. And they always know their ****. They pretty much end up saving the patient in one session lol.

If I ever met one like this, I imagine the ceiling would open and a warm light would shine on me... and I'd grow wings. Then hop on my unicorn and fly away.

Does this kind of therapist exist? I have Medicaid so probably not lol. But one can dream right??

I had one close ... he told me he was leaving soon so advised against us starting but I pleaded with him and we had three sessions ... it was like talking to a healthy "myself" ... he knew me better than I did ... really hurt when as he said he left to go to a different city to finish his phd ... I have never forgot and often wonder if he could have stayed .... never come close with anyone since then ...

not unicorn quality but very good .... course was 30 plus years ago ... did i not tell you I have been ****** since childhood ...

I have a great Therapist. I am very goal orientated... So we don't fiddle around.

I chose to jump right in and start digging to find the root problem and dive into it looking for answers.

He has nudged me before and sometimes he has practically pushed me to do xyz because sometimes he sees things I can't see within while he can see it.

I always say " if therapy doesn't hurt here and there , then your not doing it right " jmho

I got very lucky and I know it.

I am convinced I have the best therapist! We mostly spend time processing day to day stressors and how to manage that. She also helps me with relationships. I didn't have the best example growing up so she helps me set healthy boundaries with people and stand my ground. She's also really help me with my self-confidence by showing my where my strengths lie. It's been immensely helpful.

She's the best!
