So, I haven't posted in a long long time. I did the irresponsible thing and stopped taking most of my meds well over a year ago. I'm at a place now where I'm close to breaking. I have a appointment with my proc very soon. Haven't visited him in over a year as well. My manic moments have gone from creative and euphoric to irritable, agitated, and filled with self harm. I know I need to get back to my meds, but have never had a mix that I was satisfied with. ..... with all that's happening now I'm open to just being knocked out and removed all together so that I'm not such a detriment to those around me. .... all that said I've kept all this hidden from everyone but my wife. I have a talented 12yo dtr, a healthy 3week old girl, and a successful business. But that's all in jeopardy. I guess what I'm wondering is if those of you out there have a cocktail recommendation. I'm hoping to keep some energy and maybe even personality. I've researched and am wondering about Zoloft and abilify daily with a prn sleep aid. Ive stayed on my Wellbutrin all along and take 2mg clonazepam at night for insomnia. Any thoughts on the Zoloft abilify mix?

My Pdoc asked me if I wanted to try Zoloft. I forgot that I can't take Paxil and Zoloft is in the same family.
A new baby. Congrats. Most of us put our meds in signature. Read some and copy down. Show to Pdoc to see if a similar combination could work for you.

I can't give you advice on a "good" cocktail because everyone is different. *But* sometimes it's useful to have both a mood stabilizer and AP.
I'm currently on Abilify and I've found that it's not particularly useful for mania, but it's useful for my depression. (Then again, Abilify is used for treatment-resistant depression for people with MDD, so it makes sense it's useful for depression). However, some people have found the med useless. |

Everyone is different...you'll have to experiment, unfortunately. I, too, wish it were easier than that.
