So I've had four dxes Bipolar1, Bipolar2, Depression, Bipolar1, now I told my latest pdoc my t of 3 months said she doesn't see bipolar! He says he doesn't do dxes, he just treats symptoms with meds. Whatever, I don't care, don't know what I am, hes trying to get me on that vraylar ***** ,tapering me off seroquel, and topamax, am on effexor and zanax and vistoryl. She says Im not BPD, that its just my Dad's narcissistic love hate relationship with me and my consequential patterened relationships. My pdoc told me to pour the effexor capsule into a plate and only take 3/4 as I'm getting too revved up. My poor bf is taking care of his dependent elderly mother. We are drinking tequila and watching orange is the new black again. He is fresh out of prison. I quit AA. I am triggered to drink. Everything is out of control. I did create a care package for my child who got deployed to so. pacific. I did facilitate the NAMI mtg last night. I am a screw up. I love u all. Sorry

Seems odd about not giving dxes what with insurance reimbursement but it is a label-if he can adequately treat your symptoms then you will hopefully improve. I know how hard it can be coming off a batch of meds & starting new ones. Do you have a sponsor or someone you trust that you could touch base with? It sucks to feel like this but it will pass-take care.

I assume this means he doesn't tell a patient the DX. He has to code it as something for the insurance company to reimburse and track.

That's just what I was going to say. They have to give a diagnosis code at each appointment for the insurance to cover it.

Yes there has to be a label , For insurance reasons. If your Pdoc wont give you a straight answer then call your insurance and ask them what your Pdoc is billing under. Lots of pdocs dont want to slam a person with a BP label and that is actually a good thing.
Often they use MMD ( Major Mood Disorder ) As for you current struggle to just keep your head above water? You know the drinking wont help but the appeal of forgetting for a little while is hard to stop. If your curret T doent seem to be helping. find a new one. As for your med changes, If too many changes are made to quickly its a rescipe for disaster. I hope you are able to find a moment of peace and write down these issues and hand whom ever the note and dont leave until you get your answers. I am very sorry that the world is coming down around you. Keep posting !
