What are some go-to things you do when you're down and try to feel better? What do you do to comfort yourselves? Right now I could use some inspiration and good ideas.

Coffee, Food, Cigarettes, or a Nap would often take care of the physical side. Sometimes having irregularity could be a source of a wrong mood and fixing that would tend to fix the mood.

For enjoyable things, I could play the keyboard/piano, listen to songs, play a video game, call a friend, read random things on the internet, political news, or get dressed up and go out to the gay bar.

I go for a walk in the forest. I happen to live on the edge of a forest, so that part is optional. Just go for a walk. Your eyes focus on your surroundings and distract you from feelings and the physical activity is good for you.

I write and read, a lot. I try to post at least one poem a day. I browse through PC daily. I find hot baths are enjoyable, but I haven't done many of those. A hot shower helps as well. I learn to cook creatively, so I have healthy food that tastes good. I don't watch that much TV but I choose things that are inspirational.

I'm trying to use dbt skills. I haven't finished the book but ordered another version. Many say it is very helpful and that what they do in outpatient.
