setting here trying to keep my head off the table ... afraid to lay back down that is when the burning itching gets the worst .... so I set here bobbing up and down fighting sleep ... eating benadryl after benadryl ... applying benadryl cream to both legs ... determined to just pass out ... for months have craved sleep over anything .. now afraid of it ... my last sleep "aid" they believe caused this rash .... see "him" next thursday ... not sure he has any other ideas ... have tried so many .... the xanex has helped the best but only for an hour or two ... may try klonapin ... but really want to keep my xanex for day "needs" .. not sure he would let me have both ... color me itchy bobbing in the kitchen ....

may you never have to walk in my shoes ... or socks ... you get the point .... getting punchy ...

Sounds so very uncomfortable!
So sorry you are suffering!

I have found temazepam helpful with sleep. I am told it has more hypnotic properties than some of the other benzodiazepines. I only use it at night, as it's very sedating for me. You may have tried it already.

I hope your rash goes away soon.

What is that about the itching? I get it too, sometimes. Is it from the meds? (I don't take any)

I take a drug called atarax (Hydroxyzine is generic name). It has been amazing for me as I have horrible allergic itching attacks. No antihistamine has ever worked until they put me on this. What's even better is that it is also anti anxiety but non addictive like xanex or klonopin. It works in a similar way to benadryl but it works much better for me. I take two 25 mg pills before bed. If I run out the itching comes back within 3 days. As long as I take it, I rarely itch.

the doctors disagree .... the first one blamed the doxipen ... so I quit it .... steroids , creams and doing what I can to keep the areas clean and dry ... slowly getting better ... the surface (visible ) condition has settled on my legs and calfs ... has left scars on arms and sides also ... but they do not itch ... no one seems to know what to do ... so I guess I will just have to wait it out .... was it really the med ... I believe that 100% but three doctors can not agree ... one yes .. one no ... one on fence ...

the one thing the doctors agree upon is it may take years for the scars to disappear .... the itching no one has a clue ....

yes I did get "some" sleep ... but as I expected a hell of a hangover .... can only do this on weekends ... no way I could work while having this ....

Have you gotten a blood test done to check your liver and kidneys? Whenever I had kidney troubles and not drinking enough water I'd get very itchy. To the point I couldn't sleep or go to work. Would you want a drink from the bartender that can't stop itching? Lol.

Damn that sucks. Well that may be why you're itching. It's happened to me a few times and yes it sucks. I itched till my skin bled. Try cortisone cream too.

Anti-depressants usually raise your liver enzymes. Mine have been elevated ever since starting meds

I've had this off and on terrible itching for years....since childhood. Left breast has been itching for 8 years and doctors say it's exzema and allergy related. Attarax is a bit helpful and steroid creams a little useful but mostly it just sucks and has since I was a kid. I'm sorry you suffer with this....it can really impede sleep and I will wake up bloody from scratching when it's at it's worst. (((Hugs)))

Hey Elsa have you ever tried ice? My wife used to get those intense attacks like you're talking about and ice really really helped
