I should have mentioned that, although I consider Clomipramine my best drug, it still has very undesirable side effects. I'm back on it, but it doesn't work nearly as well as the first time.

Best: clonazepam in the short term, it works, but I hate it. Aripiprazole (I think it's abilify...) in the long term, but it took a good four weeks to kick in.

Worst: quetiapine - about an hour after taking it I would get sweaty and my heart would race (up to ~130bpm) and I would literally feel like I was dying unless I was horizontal immediately, and as I also slept forever on it, these two things made it impossible to function as I was in bed for 15 hours a day. I rebelled.

I'm curious too.

Best: Latuda
Worse, depakote, trazodone and all antidepressants

New here, diagnosed in October 2016 and have already rattled through 2 meds and now on Lithium.
Seroquel was good but gave me a DVT which wasn't so good.
Depakote seemed pretty ineffective and then I had a near manic episode where I decided to go into town drinking and dancing by myself before walking 10 miles home. Didn't have any sleep that weekend, so the GP switched me over to Lithium.

I totally get the zyprexa. It was my best and worst. I was happier on zyprexa and it worked so well for me but the side effects are such that you just can't get around them easily. I'm on Rexaulti now and pretty good but not like the good feelings of zyprexa.

Best- lamictal. Probably could stay just on that, but sometimes that razors edge of irritability is still there.
Best- Wellbutrin. Only ad I can tolerate. It keeps my energy up, I like to be active, not lethargic like other ADs. Getting fat = unhappy for me.

Worst- by far abilify. I hallucinated. It took me a few months to get over that wild ride. Never again.

Best for me - Seroquel - I can sleep and contains mania and helps with mood.

I was on Zyprexa for three years and it was the worst for sedation and weight gain but it stopped me from getting proper ill

worst/what never worked - Risperdal, Amisulpride, abilify,

abilify didn't work for me but I have friends that it works for

Clozopine nearly killed me but for others it is a life saver. It is highly revered by doctors and I know a few people who are happy on it .

Every single one of the APs have side effects which sucks but we have to take the good with the bad

Worst- toss up between geodon, which gave me awful akathesia
Or pristique, which gave me the worst withdrawals I've ever experienced

Best: Latuda. My symptoms improved with no side effects. It's just too expensive.
Worst: Seroquel. I ended up in the ER with chest pain and syncope. I also slept 12 hours daily and still felt exhausted.

Best: Latuda, Trokendi XR, Trintellix

Worst: Zoloft, Pristiq, Seroquel, Lithium - I wrecked (well, completely smashed) 2 cars while on seroquel plus the withdrawal while even weaning off of it correctly was torture - I was so sick, zoloft and pristiq and a few other AD's made my mixed mania more hellish than ever, and I kept going toxic on Lithium and also had tremors so bad I couldn't even write my name

Best so far has been emsam. No serious lasting depression for over a year. Invega has totally quelled any mania/mixed for three years but I'm paying a physical price so I'm not sure if it's really best.

Worst in terms of side effects was definitely lithium, and it didn't even work. All SSRIs and SNRIs I've tried have been completely ineffective or spun me into mixed episodes.

I can't even remember how I did on all my meds, except Clomipramine was the best, as far as treating my OCD and panic disorder, but my boyfriend also says Paxil was really good, too. I have/had bad side effects, though.

Best: Seroquel is incredibly effective for my anxiety/ insomnia/ daily manic side symptoms.

Worst: one antidepressant - Paxil, I think - caused quick weight gain and also depersonalization, no effect reducing my symptoms, I'd lay in a pile of clothes on my floor... yikes.
