Last night I had a panic attack. I hyperventilated to the point where I got so dizzy I couldn't stand up and I lost feeling in my fingers and toes. I took an Ativan and calmed down after about an hour. I talked to a friend who wanted me to go to the hospital and my mom asked if I needed to go too.
Here I am again crying feeling the same exact way before last night's event, knowing this is probably going to get worse later on. I have self injurious urges that have persisted all day. If I were to end my life I know how I would and have the means to do so, but have no solid intent right now.
I've been extremely stressed between working more hours than usual and trying to find a new pdoc.
I don't know what to do.

Go to the ER if your family feels you need to. Everything else will work it's self out. Are you taking your PRN? Get a drink (non-alcoholic) and drink it through a straw it helps regulate your breathing.

Can you take an Ativan to see if it can calm you down before you get too upset? You probably need some rest after last night. Be good to yourself.

I agree. If this happens again and your mom and friend think it's a good idea and are willing to take you then it couldn't hurt. I'm sorry you're having such a tough time. I hope you feel better soon.

Sorry you're going through a rough time. If you need to go to the ER, then go.

I'm not going to the ER. I'm not that bad yet, but I am getting worse and worse each day. I don't know what to do at this point to prevent needing to be hospitalized. I don't have a pdoc to talk to, the therapist I have (and haven't seen in months) is totally useless, and my GP can't make any med changes.
