I've been dealing with these A LOT lately. My AP and nothing else is working. I'm also dealing a lot with paranoia...

My question is, what do you all do to help these go away? Or at least occur less often?

I don't see my pdoc until mid July and I'm really starting to be bothered by this stuff.

Your Pdoc won't do a med adjustment over the phone?

No he doesn't do that unfortunately. Nothing seems to be working anyways.

I remember you made a thread recently about Seroquel

How bad is the situation right now? If you're seriously struggling, I would go to the ER and mention that Seroquel has helped. Sometimes when you're psychotic, you do weird, impulsive things that can get you in serious trouble. And well, it sounds like Seroquel can knock you down a few notches.

If it's getting really, really bad but you don't think you need to ER yet, then I would ask for the Seroquel somehow.

Does your pdoc offer emergency appointments? July is not too far away, but I think you need to go in sooner if you're on the track to going to IP.

Great suggestions above!

It's my opinion that if a doctor is prescribing meds to any "patient," s/he must be accessible to the "patient," incase the patient is having difficulties with meds or otherwise. My state requires this of M.D.s The doctor has to have 24 hour coverage, including weekends, as a requirement of their license to practice medicine in this state.

Are you sure there is no way to get in touch with him?

I hope there are some options for you. You've recently seen your pdoc, yet you are suffering and still need help!

Call him and say you need help! See what happens then.

Thanks everyone. I'll consider the ER. And unfortunately he's very busy. The number you call just tells you to go to a hospital if there an emergency. And he never returns phone calls. I could try to get an earlier appointment, but will be hard because of moms work schedule.

I find that getting consistent nights of sleep, eating better, exercising etc. etc. helps with my stress level, which in turn lessens hallucinations. Maybe try to think of how you can reduce stress and include more self care?

Make yourself a schedule

Sleep at X time get up at X NO Napping

Find chores and things to do that will distract you.

Clean out your closet, re organize

Keep yourself busy,

Use grounding skills

Use distraction distraction distractions

I have had 2 years of emense parinoia and hallucinations both visual and auditory. I have been put on Seriquil which has been a life savor. Another thing that helps me is when I'm having a visual hallucination I ask my husband or Mom if they are seeing what I'm seeing. He will then explain to me that no he doesn't see it. Or due to the parinoia, yes he sees what I'm talking about but, that it is not how I'm perceiving it. This has helps me to identify wether what I'm hearing and seeing is reality or my condition. It puts me at ease as much as it can! Sounds like you understand my plight. Sorry you feel like crap but, glad I found you here! Thinking of ya!

I would find a different doctor as soon as possible. A psychiatrist should always be able to return a phone call, especially in your situation. In my experience these things escalate very quickly, and it's not a good idea at all to weight until July. Like someone else said, seroquel might be a good med. since it might take a while to get in to see a good doctor, it might be a good idea to go ahead into the emergency room. Tell them what you are experiencing, and they should give you a prescription, at least. I hope you get well soon.
