So what happens if you don't learn a lesson in life?
You repeat the same mistake.
And every time you make that mistake the results get uglier and uglier.

It is good to take some time and figure out why things went to pieces.
If you do not, and you happen to repeat your folly, you will have the lead role in your very own horror show.
You will be lucky if you are the victim. Most likely, you will be the monster that leaves a trail of human wreckage.

Just some light and pleasant thoughts

So light and pleasant, lol.
Sometimes even when you've learned a lesson, you make the mistake again.
My son told me Mom you have to let me make my own mistakes. (Bad drug use, etc.)
I said Don't make the mistake on purpose!!
We will never be perfect, until we become ascended masters and hover up into the heavens or wherever they go.
No one is perfect, and if they think they are - they will get a reality check soon enough.
Forgiveness of my own guilt is a key for me.
It does take a lot of effort for me to not be the victim or the monster, but I am/have been both and somewhere in between lies the truth.

Did something happen - are you in the horror show?

I am in a horror show. I am really in a mess. I cannot even describe it. What makes matters worse is that I feel utterly alone. There are people I can talk to, but I feel alone and it is worse than the worse fear. Loneliness is a pain beyond despair.

I've been both the victim and the monster. Horribly unpleasant.

Thankfully I haven't felt that way in a while, but it's taken a lot of med changes and therapy, plus support from my immediate family (husband and daughter, mainly).

I know feeling alone is a horrible feeling. You have a lot going on - new place, different country right? We probably all have been the star in our own horror show. Sometimes I go into the feeling really deep, hoping it will pass, and that I don't do or say things I will regret. And sometimes it gets so bad I have to talk myself out of it, sorting out thoughts from feelings is hard for me.
I hope it's a feeling that will pass. And that you will find some comfort here with this group.

I can feel your pain! I was abroad for 7 years, a good part of that was in a mania. Getting myself into massive trouble and being all alone. The depression crash was the worse, and I would have to come home with a zillion problems due to messes I caused. Im surprised I never caused an international incident.

Regardless all I want to do it live abroad again, but wont go until I can get myself in better shape which will take years.

You try to learn a lesson and not repeat the same mistakes. (this is a real good one coming from me.)

I'm slowly learning and it's about bloody time. I'm 58.

I'm sorry you're having a tough time in another country. Do you want to talk about it? Is there anyway to extricate yourself as painlessly as possible? Thinking of you.
