Currently raging. Still can't find a psychiatrist. Called another place this morning, they said to fill out a form online. I went online, couldn't find the form, and called back explaning this. They said they don't know where the form is either, but "call back after lunch." Called back and got nowhere (no one answered, left a message but am not expecting a call back).
I am so pissed off. I've been threatening stopping my meds. What good is a med with no one to prescribe? My GP said he'll prescribe for a very short while until I find a new pdoc. It's gonna be interesting trying to get the right blood work from a man who hasn't heard of clozapine before me when doctors that are familiar with the med have screwed the blood work up.
In the meantime I'm still "depressed." It's more of an agitated depression and work has been extremely difficult. FML.

I'm sorry you're having such a tough time finding a pdoc. Did you call all the providers listed under your insurance? I'm losing my tdoc and had to get the names and just started calling around. After about the fifth call it got frustrating and made me irritable. Good luck with your pdoc search.

You know what I don't understand?

Why do the behavioral health group at the insurance company, and pdocs, and tdocs not hire people that are empathetic with people with mental illness? I hate it when the secretaries and claims people are super rude. I feel like crap to start with. I'm sure most of their callers do. THAT'S WHY WE ARE CALLING THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE....WE FEEL LIKE CRAP!

So sorry you are getting the run around. I try to pick a calm time and get coffee and a snack, pen, paper, and all insurance cards and paperwork before I start. I give myself plenty of time to deal with it. I breathe a lot. But I hate it.

That sounds super frustrating! How are you supposed to get well without the help of a doctor? I hope whatever form you need gets sorted out and you can see this doctor.

Once someone has been diagnosed and starts medicine the onus should be on the insurance companies to see to it that decent qualified doctors are found for their clients. This running about by us to find doctors is just wrong.
