So my geodon pooped out on me but it was a good 10 months of stability! Well goodbye geodon, hello vraylar. I brang up the vraylar to my pdoc because it's for hypo/mania and I'm a rapid cycler.

Well anyway, she's starting me at the lowest dose of vraylar for two weeks and then it doubles. BUT since I'm starting so low, she still wants me taking just one dose of geodon during the day. Well if anyone knows anything about addiction here Geodon withdraw. Sucks!. 24 hours after I take my 60mg geodon and it leaves my system I get sick. Cold sweats. Shaking. Your run of the mill WD. Well I have a ton of 80mg left and I want to go lower than 60 to help feeling sick. So I opened the 80mg and took only half. I've googled and read some horror stories of people quitting geodon. And these pdocs know nothing about being sick because your body has been living off it for a year and it gets taken away. I'm hoping in a week and half that my vraylor will help with that.

I'm feeling so ill from cutting down the geodon, I can't eat. And I've been turning to drinking... still. Just to ease the annoyance of WD. Taken more Ativan to sleep off the illness too.

Sorry just to vent there. I hate that there's meds that made us addicted with no warning. I used to take risperdal PRN for anger and when my family dr saw that he said "you know that's a horrible med to come off of". Ugh. I quit. Just let me be addicted to all them!

So I'm doing what I usually do when I feel that sickness creeping in. Take Benadryl (a lot) all day and sleep it off. Then once I wake up i go buy my beer to just get numb.

Thanks for the heads up about Geodon withdrawal. I take 240 mg at night to sleep. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Jen are you taking Geodon just to help you sleep or are you taking it for something else and at bedtime just works for you ?

geodon withdrawals suck. I get them if I space out my doses too far apart. I take 40 mg in the AM and 240 mg in the PM. It's been like that since 2015. Well technically I used to take 80 mg in the AM. I try to lower the damn **** and get depressed. Can't win for nothing. It makes me so tired all the time combined with all my other meds, but I'm pretty stable so I don't want to **** with things.

Good luck on tapering down. It can be a *****.

Thanks everyone. I'm currently down to 60mg every other day. But like Moreta said, sometimes even if I'm an hour past my dose, I start feeling bad. This sucks. Next week I'm going to break my extra 80mg caps and dump half to move down to 40. You might be wondering why pdoc didn't do this from the get go? You got me.

Yes I understand you...
It just goes and shows me that not all doctors are even aware of what they prescribe is actually addicting at all.
Just please try and hang in on there. You are not alone.
Thanks for this!
