Wisdom teeth were taken out on Thursday morning. Pain was never too bad, honestly. I guess I'm very lucky to have a good oral surgeon!

I'm going nuts, though. My anxiety is sky high. I keep freaking out that I'm going to get dry socket over the weekend with my oral surgeon being unavailable to help. (She doesn't work weekends.) Also, I have a huge gash on my lower lip that's stitched up, but the stitches keep getting in the way whenever I eat. (Had to get surgery on my lower lip b/c of a cyst.) I'm freaking out about the stitches coming out on me and then the gash getting infected!

Anything to calm down the anxiety? All I've been doing is avoiding food and trying to sleep it off. Though too much anxiety can lead to a lack of sleep, which in turn leads to an episode.

Maybe try a guided meditation? I've been doing them on YouTube at night to help me sleep. There's tons. The ones I've tried really do help me calm down at the end of the day.

Hey Blue!

It all sounds uncomfortable.

I like wildflower's suggestion.

Do you have any prn meds for sleep? I am guessing you don't.

Several people here have written about using Benadryl as a sleep aid.
Have you ever tried Benadryl?
If you do try it, please check with your pharmacist about any adverse interactions with your current meds. You can also check potential interactions between meds at www.drugs.com, using their "interactions checker."

Some of my acquaintances swear by a product called "Bach's Rescue Remedy," usually found in vitamin shops or health food stores. You can learn more about it in an online search.

I hope you find relief!

Oh Blue, so sorry you feel so anxious. Having anything done to my mouth freaks me out. I make them give me gas even to clean my teeth.

I have a little trick I use when I get into a spiral of worry. I write everything down that is worrying me. I can fill up 2 pages easy. Then I burn it.

Just don't burn your house down in the process if ypu do this

Sorry you're feeling so anxious Blue. the psych nurse I saw Wed recommended I try the App Headspace. (About anxiety phobias and meditation). Simple format and some free lessons to give it a go. Just a suggestion.
Hope you feel better soon and that your extraction sites continue to heal well. Hopefully your lip will heal quickly now.
