How common are thoughts of suicide for others? Some days they are beyond strong and others not at all.

Bipolar 1
Lithium 900mg
Latuda 60mg

On my lows they are often. Happen a few times a day and can be very strong. I use my kids to ground me. Try and think of them in those moments.

I had them but haven't for a long time. Don't know if the meds or just being in love.

When I'm depressed is when I have them the most. Depending on how deep the depression is I've even acted on them. However, most of the time I don't have them.

Yup. Although I don't have kids, I have a wife who loves me.When I'm crawling into the dark side, I think of her: how she'd feel if something happen to me. That usually pulls me back.
Thanks for this!

I get them a lot. between Christmas and new year was extremely suicidal. It was logical solution to me. I felt I shouldn't make it after new years. 'now that it's past new years I feel much better. I always have fleeting thoughts. It's just in the background right now.

Every day since.....2002. Ive probably had suicidal thoughts since I was 14yo, so that’s over 30yrs!

TRIGGER

(2002 I tried to OD on a ton of pills. I take vitamins & minerals every day. So to take them everyday triggers the thought process.)

How severe the thoughts are depends on my mood. Sometimes, most, it’s not great. Rarely I can dismiss it.
But I’m also very comfortable with the idea of death, talking about death, & I research it a great deal. I find it fascinating to study.
So the call is there everyday. Sometimes I walk with it & sometimes I’m in the shadow of it.
