(I posted this in OCD, but)

I am in tears because my impulses tell me that I need some animated star badges.

see their's this kids tv show, who give out badges to the kids for being "A star", and on the badge their is an animated picture of a star

I need them for myself, so I can hide them away in a cupboard an also use one to wear

and I need them because at school, I never got a star badge and I never got any certificates or nothing like that, so now naturally I need lots of them, one for each month of my life

I want to be a " star", and have the badges to prove it

yesterday I tried to search for an address to write to a producer or the presenter, but I couldn't find one

plus if I did, what would I say?

I don't have kids, and I don't work with kids, but please send 500 star badges anyway, because if you don't I'll just sit here and break down

urg

Can't you go to a teacher supply store & buy yourself a box of those sticky gold stars? You could paste one on your forehead each day.

Art supply stores sell them too. Perhaps dollar stores are a good place to look.

The great thing about being an adult is we can buy these things for ourselves, at places mentioned above like art supply stores.

It sounds like perhaps it is not necessarily the star badge itself that matters to you, but rather missing out on a normal childhood experience that included being congratulated for your efforts and achievements.

it is the badge.

I know if I found one that looked diffrent, I wouldn't buy it because it didn't look the same

I just need to.... well,

I guess fool the channel in to sending me one

a bit of lying hurt no one, right?

I'll just say I have a kid (that doesn't exist), and see if I can get a badge out of it.

who's gonna know

I agree. You would know. This may throw a whole new set of emotions into the situation.

hi such and such a channel,

I've been watching such and such a programme, and can't help notice that you have stars for the people that go on the show.

this is going to sound weird, but would you mind if you sent me one down?

I can't really explain why, but if you send down a badge, you'll be helping me a lot

thanks

emily

I need that exact badge, so I'm going to have to

Do it if it helps. I don't see anything wrong with wanting a badge.

I don’t see anything wrong with that email. Send it and see if you can’t get yourself a badge or two. Hugs.
