Has anybody found their symptoms improve by eliminating wheat from their diet?

I'd never drawn a correlation between BP & wheat, so never tested it. What led you to attempt giving up wheat, or is it something you're just considering? Just me, but I don't think it would do much to affect my symptoms one way or the other.

Wheat not my idea, got the idea from prescription for nutritional healing, I’ve also run across similar ideas in Whole30 books.

I was feeling better off of gluten, but when I dropped to a low carb diet things went wonky. I didn't go off gluten for bipolar though. I was having serious intestinal issues.

I lose weight when I eliminate wheat. I have eliminate wheat for long periods and don't notice a difference in my mood, other than being happier about my weight. Just my own experience though.

(Sugar is a different matter for me.)

I was having cognition problems starting a few years ago, possibly due to lithium. My p-doc suggested going off gluten for awhile. Within a week or two, I got a big boost. Brain fog mostly cleared away. I recently went off lithium and found that I did fine with gluten. The conclusion I draw is that my gluten sensitivity was just strong enough that going off it gave the edge I needed over lithium, but not strong enough to be gluten-free off lithium.

As far as weight goes, it's really hard for me to say if it affected my weight. I lost a bunch of weight in just the last year after I went off of saphris and much of my belly fat went away. Two weeks ago I went off lithium. Then one week ago I went back on gluten. I haven't gained any weight, but strangely enough I gained belly fat. Not sure how that works, but it's definitely happening. Appetite has increased as well which is making things a little more difficult. Is this because of going off lithium or going back on gluten or am I just eating more carbs? Not sure!

Finally, no, it did not affect my bipolar symptoms

I strongly suspect that wheat gluten is not the real problem, but that glyphosate (used on wheat crops) is toxic and having severely negative affects on people.

I have read about this, too.

I've read this, too. So, organic wheat like Bob's Red Mills has no glyphosate. I'm curious if anyone here who has an intolerance to wheat has tried this or another glyphosate-free wheat?

Snopes weighed in on this one, btw.

https://www.snopes.com/food/tainted/roundupwheat.asp

I've also read that other, perhaps older(?), strains of wheat are lower gluten and are more easily tolerated.

I suppose both could be true. Or both could be false. I think the jury may still be out on this one.
