Last night

I bet this will be pulled by a mod, before anyone can read it but I'll try. I have 1 liter bottles of liquid sleeping meds. I drank over half the bottle last night, not wanting to wake up. But I did. My husband Said I passed out twice. Thats why I'm covered in bruises. Probably one of the stupidest things I have ever done. I'm supposed to take 1 shot at night.

Please be careful. Do you think you need to go IP?

I think it is best to measure out your doses, using a measuring spoon. Wonder what your dose is supposed to be? 1 tablespoon?equals 15 cc or 15 ML

Less than a shot

Something that helped me years ago when I was struggling with taking too much of my medication, was to give my meds to someone I trusted. For me it was my dad, for you it could be your husband. At one point my dad had the meds locked up, and would give me my doses as needed. I felt a bit like a child at that point, but I also knew I wasn't well enough to be trusted with my medications.

Is this something you might consider?

The bottle should say how many ML or CC or table spoons or teaspoons...it should not say a shot. Please read the directions and measure out your dose next time.
Have your hubby help you do this.

I can't find the bottle. My hubby emptied and threw away the bottle/ Before I was taking a little less than a shot.

Next time you have that urge text/call me BEFORE you do it and I'll help you get through it. You are not alone and you are loved. I understand what it's like. I really do. You be there for me and I'll be there for you. Together.

I tried talking to a trauma councilor, but it was too soon and I could't even tell her what happened.

It's important you go at your own pace.
I hope the flashbacks stop.

The med I took was Chloral hydrate. Very strong and deadly. It is a miracle I'm alive.

Sometimes flashbacks can be too painful to bear. I have them when triggered and I've had to have my therapist talk me through them. I've been lucky enough to be able to reach her. A lot of times, her number is the only thing I can remember at the time. Is there someone you can call, not even a therapist, but a close friend who might be able to help you through them?

I'm glad you're ok. It sounds like you had a close call. I did a similar thing with Lunesta. After that, my husband kept my meds for awhile. Can your husband help you, too?

Please take care of yourself and don't be afraid to get help if you need it.

my husband locks up everything. He didn't think I would over dose on my new sleep meds or he would have locked them up as well.

Well it's good you made it out alive.

Choral hydrate is what they gave me in the hospital to sleep when I went into my psychosis and nothing else worked. Poerful stuff. Please be careful with that.

Please KNOW you are a lovely person and don't deserve the pain of flashbacks, nor the pain of dystonia. Nor do you deserve to die.

I know it's all very painful!
While I don't know your pain, I do know pain -- both physical and psychological. I do understand sometimes wanting a reprieve.

Please KNOW we all love you and would be heart-broken if you were to succeed, accidentally or otherwise.

Heck, my heart aches just knowing you suffer enough to want out.

I remember when my husband had to keep my Ativan locked up and dole it out to me as needed, because I OD'd on it one night when I was feeling down. It wasn't anywhere near enough to kill me, just enough to make me pass out for 15 hours while he watched me to make sure I was still breathing. I scared him badly that time. I scared him worse a couple of years later when I told him I wanted to hurt myself and ended up in the hospital for suicidal ideation/intent. It must have been awful for him to be unable to help me in any way. I'm not sure where I was going with this. Just know that you deserve to be well and to not have to feel so desperate that you want to leave this world. Hang in there...this too shall pass. It always does. Hugs.

I just took one of my meds that I'm supposed to take 1 a day.I took ten. I don't know what's wrong with me.
