Money stresses me out so bad. It makes me anxious and I can't think about anything else anymore. I know worrying won't make it any better, I just can't distract myself.
I'm scared that I will screw up my finance and end up with serious problems. That's not even a realistic fear yet. I wish I could get rid of these thoughts. I should be avoiding too much stress, but how can you avoid stress when everything makes you stressed? I mean, talking to strangers makes me stressed, making phone calls are the worst thing ever. I feel like a disappointment because some normal things make me way too anxious. I'm trying to tell myself I am doing better, but I have no clue if I'm just lying to myself.

I can relate to your post.
It seems like an ongoing problem in my life. I do best when practicing being in the Present Moment. I hope you feel less stressed soon. ![]() WC

Hi Ralau. I am sorry you have anxiety about money. It is something when we do not have life becomes very difficult. It sounds like anxiety is disrupting your life in other ways too. Some people look to a professional to help them cope with anxiety.
As far as money goes having 6-12 months of savings to tide you over can cover the practical uncertainty of running out of money, even though anxiety may still persist These may be of interest https://psychcentral.com/lib/15-smal...iety-symptoms/ https://psychcentral.com/stress/ https://psychcentral.com/blog/coping-with-anxiety/

My counselor taught me that when something is stressing you out, you need to make a plan and commit to it. Maybe make a budget and a calendar for paying bills, and when you stress about it tell yourself "I am doing something about this, it is being handled, I can think about other things."
That kind of thing has really helped me. Instead of spending 15 hours a day ruminating on whatever, I spend half an hour actually doing something about it and then when I start to have those thoughts I can acknowledge that it's a waste of my energy and that things are being handled as best as they can. |
