You all are so awesome and thank you for supporting me and my daughter. I’m going to do some coping skills. This weekend my 12 year old is going with her father’s side of the family on a trip. So I will have the apartment to myself for a few days me and the dog. We live like in the country there’s a lake outside my building.

My daughter K called she said there is a violent lady in the hospital. She threw coffee on a staff member and they sedated her. Later she punched a man. I told her to stay away from that lady. K said lunch was good. The place is clean but it’s not structured. They do not really have many groups and going is optional. You can color or go to sleep in your room. I told K to stay strong and that I loved her.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Morning, I just took a shower and it felt really good. It helped me relax. K has not called this morning. I’m wondering if her name was put on the court docket. She might be on her way to mental health court. I’m going to try and eat breakfast shortly. I’m just not hungry. Yesterday I only ate 640 calories. Today I’m going to try to do a lot better.

I had a good lunch and walked the dog. Then my daughter K called. She said her court date will be Tuesday or Wednesday. K said she met with the psychiatrist and she told her she did not have depression. That she actually has bipolar disorder. I told K, I wanted her to accept it when she was ready. K said that she knew it because both her parents have it (her dad undiagnosed but has all the classic symptoms). She said, she understood why people get misdiagnosed if they deal with mostly depression. K said should could not wait to get out and get on the correct medications.

Glad she's making progress and hopefully with the new dx and proper medication she'll be ready to go home after court.

Hey everyone,

K called this morning her court date is going to be on Tuesday at 1 PM. It’s at the courthouse downtown in the county she lives in. She’s currently at a hospital not in her county she lives in (one hour away). My sister got married at the courthouse in Feb and I went. I was terrible....I had not been to a courthouse in years to pay a ticket. Well they took out the coin machines and customers have to pay with a card or bills. I used my card (I rarely have cash) then it said charged but it did not print my receipt. You have to get a receipt and put it in your vehicle window so you will not get a ticket. I almost had a panic attack that day. There were a line of people behind me.
So what I’m going to do is drive to my aunt’s house (she lives closer to downtown). Then I’m going to take a Uber to the courthouse. I have explained everything to K. She use to use Uber and the Lyft before she got her car. K actually has a free ride pass with Lyft. So once we’re done with court. We will use her free ride with Lyft to get pack to my aunt’s house where my car will be parked. Then I will take her home. Luckily I am on her bank account and was able to pay her car payment for her today.

This is encouraging news indeed that K is looking to treat it properly and move forward. Very adult of her. (I know, I know, over 18s are all adults and all, but my son's a few years older than she is, and would fight it all tooth and nail, so you know what I mean.) Mature. Guess that would be a more apprpriate word...Whichever, she's got it!

Man, I’m so sorry you have to go through all that to get to Mental Health Court. When I worked for Superior Court Probate/Mental Health Court, the Court went to the hospital.

I hope it goes smoothly.

I don’t know how it works in your state, but when my mom was in a for a suicide attempt, I told her to sign herself in so she could sign herself out. I know that people don’t necessarily have the state of mind to do that, but if it is a possibility, it is good to ask about if this ever comes up again and then get her to do it.
