I'm depressed. Sleeping til 2pm in the afternoon. I'm sensing a supernatural entity that is telling me I'm going to die this year, probably by suicide. I know I have 75 of the pills the entity is telling me to take. I want to practice my other method just to make sure it'd work.

I have a tdoc appointment tomorrow and I'm afraid she'll force me IP. Do I need it though?

Yes, I think it is definitely a good idea for you to go IP.

The fact you asked if you need IP suggests that you know something is wrong enough that you need urgent professional care. If you know you need urgent help, then IP is the way to go.

As I always say, if you really don't know if you should stay or go, try the hospital anyway. They'll decide if you need to stay or if you're in need of a different level of care, such as PHP, IOP, etc. Just be honest with them so that they can help you. This is your life and you deserve the best.

I sounds like you should go.

I think you should. I didn't go when I should have and I regret it. Maybe like bluebicycle said they won't even make you do inpatient, just a program where you can get help in groups and a pdoc can change your meds. If you feel in danger right now definitely go, but otherwise be honest with your tdoc and trust her opinion.

Give your pills to a family member to lock up. You’re home now, right?

You know that you’re having psychosis, right? It’s not real.

I think you should go IP,

Like bluebicycle said, if you are asking the question, some part of you thinks it may be the right thing. And I agree, also, that the people there will decide what level of care you need after talking with you. The best thing is to be completely honest. Tell them you have the pills and that you want to try it to make sure it would work. Tell the about the entity. Tell them about the sleeping. Don't leave out anything, even if it feels scary or wrong to be talking to them, they really do want to help.

I think you do need IP.

At a minimum you need to hand surplus meds over to a family member, friend, neighbour or pharmacy. My pharmacist only gives me 2 weeks worth at a time and this keeps me safe.

Please let your therapist and psychiatrist know that you are contemplating plans.

I’m agrenwith the others. Please give your pills to someone to hold for you ASAP. You would probably benefit from IP.

I narrowly managed to escape IP today. Checking in with tdoc again on Monday to see if I need to go.

If you have plans and something is telling you to act upon them, you need to go. At least hand over your meds to a trusted person.

I gave my meds to my fiancee, so I don't have access to them anymore. Feeling slightly better today too, so I think I made the right decision to stay home.
