Hi diamondprincess,

My son says that I abused him as a child and am a horrible person who doesn't deserve to be treated with respect or even to live. Whenever he gets upset at something in his life, he has a fit and tells me he wishes I was dead. Since I have been diagnosed and treated for lung cancer, this is not just an idle proposition, but one I think about everytime I wonder when and if my cancer will come back.

I am sorry you are going through this. Kids can be mean. Did you have bp when he was younger?

I don't think so. My first manic episode was at age 44 when I was put on a high dose of celexa. It was the first time I had ever taken any psychiatric medication. I had mood instabilities though, prone to long bouts of depression. My son's dad died when he was 8 and it seems to me he has hated me ever since. It doesn't come out all of the time but whenever he is upset he just exhibits unalloyed hatred for me. It has been going on for a long, long time. Maybe it is his ADHD. But I am the only one he treats this way as far as I know.

Oooh I see. Then yeah, he is taking it out on you. You shouldn't take that from him. If you haven't done anything to him, then you have nothing to feel bad about. He just has issues of his own. Sometimes you have to distance yourself from family and thats ok.

Thanks for this!
