I am not even sure anymore what typical is but from what I have read it seems like I am a little bit atypical... I am just curious to see if anyone else feels the way I do and what they do to manage.

My mood changes very rapidly, like multiple times a day. I go from cheerful, hypomanic, to overwhelming stress, to catatonic, to disassociated, to a somewhat depressed hypomania. But I never hit full depression which I am very thankful for.

I do have comorbid ADHD and GAD and I am not sure if those play into my mood swings but please chime in!

Sounds like a mixed episode and they are hell on earth.

What does your Pdoc think?

Sounds like a med tweak is needed

Hope you feel better soon

If all of these emotions are felt simultaneously, It sounds like a mixed episode. If they are felt in succession, and especially, as a result of what's going on around you, it sounds like co-morbid BPD. Dissociation can occur in both BP and BPD. I would ask your pdoc about this and your other co-morbid conditions and see if they're playing a role if at all. What you're going through sounds hellish, so I wish you the best. Take good care!
Thanks for this!

We really cannot diagnose you or your symptoms. We don't know you medical history, for one thing. What you've described could have any one of a number of causes, from psychosis to mood issues to PTSD. The GAD could certainly be an aspect of your condition.
Have you spoken with your pdoc about the problem you're experiencing?

I second what Gabyunbound said. Talk to your pdoc.

Not necessarily all at once thank god... Just in extremely rapid succession. I will schedule an appointment with my pdoc but I may need to see a therapist just to be able to explain the way that I feel.
Thanks for this!

Ultra rapid cycling aka ultradian cycling is awful. To make your doctors job easier, keep a mood diary and show it to them. It’ll help in making a diagnosis.

I had this yesterday. One minute hper the next crying. That's the first time it's happened to me. It was good to read these responses. I hope you are feeling better now.

Torq, I have BPI.
I've been through what you describe. Rapid cycling can be terrible, second only to a mixed episode afa I'm concerned. It's exhausting. Of course, I'm not any type of professional and have no way of knowing that's what you're going through.

I agree with what Pooky and the others said...def talk to pdoc.

I hope you get some relief soon.
