You need a damn break literally from everything right now, I’d definitely stick with MMJ , seems like it helps even just a bit

My heart breaks for you

The low dose melatonin did not do much; did not sleep more than 2 hrs total.
I think I will try a higher dose tonight.

I took temazepam, melatonin, MMJ and my night-time morphine and citalopram; still having great difficulty sleeping. My rheumatologist said long-term use of a benzo for sleep can cause a paradoxical sleep reaction.

This EKG situation is not going to be resolved this week, maybe next week.

In the meantime, all of my medical conditions-- and pain-- are getting worse due to sleep deprivation. I was a mess at my rheumy appt yesterday.

So far, the MMJ is more helpful than anything I have tried. It is not enough right now.

I need to be sedated enough to get some decent sleep!
I have never before had so much difficulty getting help when I am in this state. (My rheumy would have helped more if the pdoc was not actively involved right now; she would have prescribed more.)

I have been planning to try to get some sleep this weekend and H has just phoned me to tell me he has taken the weekend off from work so we can do some projects. Huh? I cannot do projects until I get some sleep. (I have tried.)

Sorry for the whining.

LOVE TO ALL!

You aren't whining. You are in pain, exhausted and fighting a battle you never should have had to fight over the EKG.

I hope you sleep well tonight.

Hi WC,

I just saw this and want to say how sorry I am for your losses and for everything you are going through. I would also refuse to turn over my pdoc's notes and the hassle you are going through about getting an EKG sounds absurd.

I once asked to see how many notes my pdoc had for me and after a decade it is several inches thick. I wouldn't want any other person going through all that.

Not being able to sleep is rough and I really hope you can get this sorted soon. I personally find that Lyrica, which is not a benzo, puts me to sleep and most importantly keeps me asleep even at a low dose (50 mg). It is also effective against chronic pain and qt interval prolongation is rare on it. I find it much more effective than gabapentin even though they are related medications. I would also think that seroquel would knock most people out who aren't used to it and I hope you have success with that.

Thank you, everyone!

I have not found melatonin helpful. I have tried lower dose and higher dose. Neither improves my sleep. 10 mg gave me severe intestinal cramping, which is a known potential side-effect.

MMJ has been the most helpful so far.

Was awake after 1 hour of sleep. Slept this AM for 2 hours.

Thanks for your love and support.

I will tell you what truly knocked me out after 3 days no sleep I went Ip and still was awake another 2 until we tried Thorazine , 50 mg and I slept like a baby for 14 hours.

It’s my last ditch prn if I go more than 5 days without sleep or even a few hours a night. Only side effect is a hangover the next day.

Maybe your Pdoc will consider thinking outside the box for a prn that likely knock you out.

I so hope you get some decent sleep soon I worry about you

It's very important to think outside the box!

Thanks for responses.

I am still needing sleep.

I have found some Ambien from a prior episode. I am going to try it tonight.

Received a call from my favorite aunt today. She has been in the hospital and is very, very ill. Awaiting test results. She lives many states away, so I cannot go to see her in person right now.

Love to All!

The first night of Ambien was somewhat helpful with sleep. Thankfully.
Feeling hung-over from it; yet, still overall helpful.

Am very sad about my aunt. Definitely adds to feelings of loss.
I hope she is better off than she currently thinks she is.
Will know more this week.

Trying to function with Ambien .

Love to All!

I hope the ambien helps you tonight as well.
the 5&10mg are quick acting and can be cut into 2

the 6&12mg are extended released and should not be cut.
that is if they are cut they are no longer long acting.
But maybe that is what you want?

Thanks so much for the responses.

Please forgive me as I have not had the energy to post in response to each individual's response to my posts.

I will try the Ambien again, yet will cut the dose back. I did sleep a bit on it last night, but am feeling agitated and extra depressed today. If I remember right, it was posing problems the last time I had tried it.

I hope everyone has a restful night.
Love to All!

A-W-A-K-E!!!

Had a busy day. H and I went out to a pub for dinner. Had a great time!
He is sound asleep. I am not. I'll see my pdoc in 2 days and hope to get things sorted out. (I hope she is sorting issues out with the university health center so I can get the EKG done.)

I hope everyone is comfortable, and if the time zone is right for it, I hope you are sound asleep!

Love to All!

Hey WC,

I'm glad you've got your H to help you get through the rough spells. I was also at a pub with my son yesterday for lunch. Are you at a comfortable temperature at night? I find it harder to stay asleep when the weather is hot.

I hope you get your EKG soon and a good night's sleep tonight.

Just left a 3 hour highly controversial public meeting. People were very wound up tonight. I am now very agitated. In the end, some people were rudely yelling at the moderators. Very agitating for me.

It's also bed time. I hope I can settle down.

Thank you for the responses.
Yes, my bedroom has AC, which helps in this heat.

I see my pdoc tomorrow. Hopefully, we can get things straightened out.
Thanks again.
Love to All!

LoL! Yes, it's understandable. The meeting was re: affordable housing. A very hot topic! A lot of fear, understandably so.

I am thrilled. Finally able to get an EKG without circumventing the pdoc.

Awaiting results and related med changes.

I like my new pdoc… and also miss my former pdoc.

Thanks for the love and support!

I'm so glad for you. Do you know when to expect results? Has your pdoc given you the new script so you can jump on it when cleared?
