I think I spent close to $2000 between Labor Day sales and the past week (pre Labor Day sales). I don't know what's wrong with me. ALL the items were shoes, with the exception of 2 gifts and a laptop that I bought for my dad ($700) as a surprise gift. He needs the laptop for sure, as his old one broke, so I'm not returning this new laptop. I can't return it anyway since I custom built it. (I know a lot about computers.) Plus, he spent close to $10,000 on my grandma's funeral about two and a half weeks ago, so the least I can do is give him a gift.

I don't need more shoes. I already have 52 of them. (I wish I were exaggerating, but I do have 52 already. That's because I *never* throw any away, even when they're completely trashed. So I have a collection from age 14 up to my current age, 27).

Two of them I can't return for sure, and those were $100 apiece. I sprayed them with Jason Markk stuff. (Jason Markk affects the shoe, as it protects the shoe but slightly alters the color. Plus, they smell different now.)

Three of the other ones are final sale only, so that sucks. Those shoes were around $100 apiece! So... like $500 in shoes I can't return between those final sale ones and the other two... not including the $100 I spent on Jason Markk stuff, which I also can't return since I used most of it. The best I can do is try to sell them, but I'll probably get ripped off, so I don't want to do it.

Also, I have a friend on this forum and I bought them some stuff as a birthday gift and a gift for their kid. They deserve the gifts and I want them to enjoy them. But I'm just saying that that contributes to the total amount of money spent.

I think I'll return the rest of my shoes, but I'm such an idiot. $1375 in nonreturnable items. Oh, and that doesn't count my $1000 psych re-evaluation from last month. So I guess if you just look at August alone (and pretend that Sept. 1st is part of August), it's more like $3000.

I guess it all depends what your monthly bills are like. For me that would be double so that really would be a ton of money to spend in such a short go. But I read your thread and you go out to eat a lot at fancy placrs so it seems you can afford these shoes even if the number is big.

I have over 100 pairs. And I always need another pair.
Because I buy a model in all the color available.
I got shoes in every color of the rainbow. In Bally's only, over 50 pairs.
I buy mostly traditional shoes. Not too deviated from the classics.
That way they never go out of fashion.

I also have 12 pairs of custom 1/2 cowboy boots to dress up that I designed.
In skins.
Shark, elephant, ostrich, stingray, gator, rattle snake, sheep, etc.

Nothing like the offgassing of a new pair of shoes.

Thankfully, I have not had a huge BP shopping spree like that in years. Definitely return what you can. Are your finances OK or were you struggling even before the spending spree?

hmm, you might be confusing me with someone else. I eat at home to save money. I can't remember the last time I ate out, especially since I have no friends. I'm also trying to save money for a house

Finances are ok, but as I mentioned to moose, I'm trying to save up money for a house, so this is a big dent in my wallet right now. I spent more than I made.

Ouch! I am not sure if it is feasible, but have you looked at methods to make it more difficult to spend? (Like cancelling credit cards, setting aside cash for different items, avoiding areas where you tend to engage in spending?) September is a new month and each day is an opportunity for wins.

Each month, when our checks are deposited, I feel as if I must buy those things that I’ve plenty of. This month it was long-sleeved silk shirts (Autumn’s coming!) and reading glasses. Just at $2,000. Not terrible. I don’t need more than I already have, of course, but can you ever have too many of anything?

Bills are paid but I’ve little remaining for food (fine by me!) and cigarettes (crap!).

I can never explain my spending sprees.

What is it about shoes that makes them so attractive to binge on? I wish I binged on something practical, like toilet paper or laundry detergent.
