I have been confused and recently it has become worse. In the afternoon, I stopped off at my lawyers office to drop off a check. Soon after that I started to become more confused. I had a pdoc appointment but I stopped off at a bank for money. I then went to my pdoc appointment. It took me some time since I ended up lost. I know where I live pretty well. This should of not happened.

After I saw my pdoc, everything started to feel very strange like I was in a different city from my own. It felt unreal. It took me lets say over a half an hour to get sonewhere ten minutes away. I kept getting lost. I then went to Dennys. I went past the place two times without realizing it. Get this. I knew where I wanted to drive, but I ended up in front of my pdocs office again. This was not where I was going to. Within an hour I started not to feel this way. I think being absent minded does not explain all if this.

I fear that this may be early onsent dementia. I am not looking for a diagnosis. I am wondering with all of your experienses whether you have experienced this before, and as a consequense, tell me what your pdoc diagnised it to be in your particular cases.

This experience must have been very unsettling. I have no diagnostic information. I am concerned about you! Are you showing any signs of physical illness?

Please take extra good care!

I think you should see your GP and have a full physical with labs to rule out any medical issues.

Then have a talk with your Pdoc about this.

Possible TIA? I know people have confusion from them.

I hope you find some answers, it would freak me out for sure.

I am concerned about this being a TIA. I am physically OK. I have not had a physical in a great many years. I am feeling better today. I hope I do not go through that again. A web page says this can happen to the average person. I suspect it would be very rare. If this is true, I still do not think it would happen to them to the extent that I had experienced. This may be related to anxiety. I need to get myself checked out. I had this happen to me maybe about five years ago. In this case, it was much wirse. However, it only lasted several minutes.

That is an unsettling experience. I had some bad confusion too (such as not putting on a hand mitt taking a pan out of the hot oven and burning myself), forgetting just everything, once sitting in the car and not remembering how to drive it.

I contacted my pdoc first as PCP was not in. He lowered my Wellbutrin, and that helped it.

But I was scared by the forgetfulness too.

It has also gotten worse for me once I became mixed. Are you mixed? Did any of your meds change recently, even something you may be on for reasons other than psych reasons? Have you started taking any new supplements or vitamins? How long have you been on the combo of meds you are taking right now? If it's not too long, it could be the meds.

And I'd contact your PCP, and if they think it is a concern, follow up with a specialist.

I would be anxious and upset about an experience like that too

How much Wellbutrin are you taking? I was on 300 mg awhile, and that's when I got super forgetful. On 150 mg, I still forget words, spellings, phrases, and I am pretty sure it's the Wellbutrin too because Wellbutrin did the same thing to me in grad school. Well, I took Wellbutrin & Effexor together then and blamed the Effexor but now I am pretty sure it was the Wellbutrin.

What has concerned me is I was driving a car at the time. I am on 300 mg of Welbutrin. I have been on this combo of meds for some time. I have episodes of ectreme forgetfulness and confusion. It has been happening for a year. Now it has become much worse. Also that bizzare feeling of I guess derealization is a first for me. Stress? Anxiety? This is not good since I am looking for a job.

I have no answers for you, but I just wanted to send some love and echo recommendation of getting in touch with your doc if this happens again or you're really concerned.

So sorry. I've had the derealization/depersonalization, but it's been a coping mechanism I've used early on in life. Sometimes, it is unsettling how much I do it lately. 300 mg of Wellbutrin is a high dose so it is worth looking into if that could have caused it. I don't know why, but Wellbutrin just makes me so forgetful.

I'd talk to both your pdoc and get checked out by any specialist your PCP thinks it is worth seeing. Remember, we tend to tell ourselves it is always the worst case scenario, and that is usually not the case. In fact, most of the time, it will not be the worst case scenario but something else entirely unexpected.

Do get yourself checked out ASAP though because going around like that much longer sounds very dangerous.

300mg is probably the most common dose of Wellbutrin.
