I'm prescribed to take 300mg of Clozaril a day, but I tapered myself down to 50mg and now I'm hearing whispers when no one is around and I get confused when there are people around and I hear things and ask and people say "no, I didn't say that." My sleep is fine and my mood is fine, pretty sure I'm not depressed or manic. I'm afraid of people breaking in the house and spying on me too.
I see my pdoc in 2 1/2 weeks. I don't want to call earlier because the receptionist is an unhelpful witch. I don't trust the pharmacist either, he'll probably replace my meds with poison. I'm thinking of tapering back up to 300mg on my own, but I'm also thinking of just dealing with it for a few weeks and then asking to switch to Seroquel (which helped, but I got off it for the side effects... which are exactly the same side effects I get on Clozaril). What should I do?

I'm so sorry you're struggling, spikes It's always important to be careful with meds. At this point I don't know what to suggest... if you keep taking 50mg things may worse, but suddenly going to 300mg may be dangerous as well. How long have you been taking these meds? Are you sure you don't want to call earlier? It may be dangerous if you continue like this. I hope you'll see your Pdoc soon. Take care. Let us know how it goes. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this

I've been taking Clozaril for about six months straight now. I'm not going to call. I think I'm going to ask to switch back to Seroquel so I can go to a different pharmacy. I don't think it'll be dangerous.

Your problems, the way you describe them, are too serious to wait two and a half weeks before you deal with them. You really should call your doctor whether you want to or not (Tell your doctor the next time you see him how hard she is to deal with--they don't always know, and they should definitely be told.)

If you're already paranoid enough to believe your pharmacist would poison you then you are on a downslide. Talk to your doctor about Seroquel if you want, but do it now.

I have olanzapine prn to take whenever i have symptoms. If I were hearing voices and having paranoid thoughts I would just take 10 mg at night. I don't know anything on how clozaril needs to be tapered. I take 1 mg Rexulti every day, though. It's another antipsychotic.

Waiting so long might put you into a full blown episode. You don’t want to go there it will leave a path of destruction in your wake and amends to be made.

Make sure you do indeed tell your Pdoc that the receptionist is not helpful at all.

Stay safe

Did you do well on the Seroquel? I like it granted sometimes its a little hard to wake up in the morning since it usually knocks me out fifteen minutes after I take it. I haven't really noticed much weight gain; but I think that could be dose dependent too.

I used to work in reception and I agree some of them are just unhelpful; you should definitely tell your pdoc or even ask to the Practice Manager most clinics have one and we usually take a complaint seriously.
