Congrats on organizing your plan!

I have found that I can follow through once I devise a plan, get organized and form a strong intention. Sometimes, I post my written intention on the refrigerator or on a cupboard door (one i use a lot).

I need to get very serious, organized and need to clarify my intention.

It seems like i often start or re-start a weigh reducing strategy just before the holidays. i usually lose weight over the holiday season this way.

Good Health and Love to All!
Setting and resetting out intent daily and sometimes more than once a day makes a huge difference. Excellent strategy!

Please wish me luck, I'm going to the dentist tomorrow for a possible infection. I'm always nervous about going to any medical appointments and it would be good to have some support

I have been going out for walks lately and have so enjoyed doing so.
I am looking forward to more.

Today , I am in excruciating pain from Psoriatic Arthritis. All joints and can barely walk in the house. Having to resort to heavy duty pain meds in order to get thru it.

Love to All!

Thank you guys for the support I just got home, Dentist appointment went well, it wasn't an abscess or infection on the inside of my cheek, it was from biting it really hard in my sleep which is why it's been irritated and sore, they gave me some rinses for it to help it heal in the gift bag thing they give you after cleanings/exams. I have some cavities I'll have to get filled but that's about it

I am glad this went so well for you!

I am always concerned about whatever the dentist might find.

Good for you!

I have an appt with my primary care dr to get my symptoms checked next Tuesday. I know I will have to go for bloodwork. I will be able to do that Saturday, but I’ll have to get up super early so it’s not as crowded. I don’t do well with waiting at the lab.

I am just highly overwhelmed with changing my diet. I have been eating like trash for so long that I don’t know how to go about changing it. One of the problems is I hate to cook so I rely on processed foods that I can cook easily and quickly. Like today we had sloppy joes and instant mashed potatoes. Not the healthiest of dinners. I think I just have to buckle down and cook more. Find fresher meals. I can still make the processed stuff for RS but I don’t have to eat it.

I’m less worried about diabetes because my pdoc said one of the symptoms is losing weight even though you’re eating more and that’s not happening. I am actually gaining weight, of course. I’ve been craving sugar like nobody’s business. Today I had a 450 calorie chocolate chip cookie AND chocolate pudding!

I don’t know. I’m tempted to try weight watchers again because that really teaches you how to make better choices with food. But it costs money that I don’t have. And requires cooking. I have to stop being such a baby about cooking, really, is what it is. I

Gawd I’m so sorry you struggle with such pain. It’s good you still have actual pain meds you can take when you are just up against that wall so hard

A lot of time I’ll throw lots of chicken breasts in the crock pot , season with garlic S&P in the morning and by dinner it’s so moist it falls apart .. I just have a small baked potato and steam a bag of veggies! Dinner served

Cooking extra leaves me a lot of already cooked chicken to use in the following days. Pasta, shredded chicken, garlic crushed, bit of olive oil, basil , lemon and lime juice. 15 min meal.

Crock pots are such a help , toss everything in, go to work .. come home dinner is basically ready. It makes meats extremely tender.

It’s a struggle to find ways to eat healthy when your working.

You can do it

I'll add a few meals to what Christina suggested. These are all easy to make from scratch and you can lighten the last one up with lean ground turkey instead of beef. All hearty and husband approved.

I remembered that on September 24th I commented how I got my period after only 17 days from the start of the previous one. It seems like it is back on some kind of normal track now. I need to start tracking that formally.

I guess I've been comparatively well lately, physically, with the exception of my stitched up finger. I go next Tuesday to get the stitches out. I think it's healing OK. My gastrointestinal distress has eased, as well. I need to keep it that way. I honestly think that my increase in Seroquel XR is to thank for many things. My moods have stabilized well, I'm handling stress well, again the heartburn has eased, and my sleeping is better, even though I have been getting tired earlier, but then again I wake up much earlier raring to go.

I missed several of my workouts last week due to schedule craziness. I've gotten one in every day so far this week and in general I feel so much better. I've been really busy, but I've been making the time anyway.

I have a raging headache at the moment and it was pounding during my workout a few moments ago. Usually it helps to get up and get moving, so hopefully it will go away soon. I intend to take a hot shower and lay down to rest for a while this afternoon. We have a busy evening of Halloween festivities with the kids later, so I am hoping I will rally by then.

Hugs to everyone who needs or wants one and wishes for wellness to all!

How thoughtful of you to think of me when you have a raging headache.

I am having a rough day. It takes time to recover from such an exacerbation, as in days or longer. It all depends upon many factors.

I am foggy, very tired and restless at the same time. Having trouble with concentrating, comprehension, etc. In a bit less pain; yet, am paying for it in med side-effects.

I am a bit bummed because I had thought, and the numbers have indicated, that the new med (Enbrel) was working for me. I don't know how this exacerbation plays into the overall evaluation of drug/treatment efficacy. I guess I'll find out. The drug company is currently helping me with my monthly copay (over $650.00/month). I have been participating in their program which collects info, in general, and also evaluates my overall response to their drug therapy. I may be cut off from the program. If so, it means experts in PsA feel my response to this specific drug is not efficacious in my case. (If this happens, I will be moved to yet another drug in this same class. I do not know the particulars of the financial ramifications of this option yet; I will cross that bridge if/when I need to do so.)

I am sorry you are suffering a headache. Sounds like a doozy!
I hope it goes away and allows you to thoroughly enJOY your time with your family activities tonight! It's wonderful your son has shared his talents with you, in hopes of helping you to feel better! Their love is so pure. I am sure children, especially our own, hold significant "powers" when it comes to assisting in healing.

Thank you for being such a good friend.
I hope you feel much better very soon!

Hid, I'm new here. Intermittent severe pain (spinal problems pinching nerves to both legs) on top of a nasty mixed episode. Gained 6 pounds in the past week probably because I've been giving in to cravings for sugar, plus I've been hitting the chocolate pretty hard trying to conquer the depression. My psychiatrist just added fluoxetine (Prozac) which just adds to my weight gain worries.

Ah, well, time to get back to a low-carb, low-fat diet, stick to protein, veggies, and fruit.

I’ve lost 35 pounds now and I feel terrific physically. I need to increase my activity level and increase green foods but all in all I’m pleased. I still have a ways to go on this journey but I’m in it for the long haul.

Thank you!

I am sorry to hear you had another rough day. I thought that might be the case given all you suffered through yesterday. I am still hopeful the medicine will work and this is some sort of fluke flare up. I know you desperately need the relief.

Does this type of arthritis have triggers such as certain foods or weather or seasons, etc? I admit I only know a bit about it after what you and Christina have shared.

I did feel much better after a brief rest this afternoon. We were able to enjoy the outing. Children do have an amazing capacity to assist us in healing. I agree completely!

Hi Randal. Welcome to PC! We are happy to have you.

I've been there with the sugar cravings and the chocolate. It is like an addiction. It feels like a good idea at the time, but it makes things worse. You are smart to do something about it.

Your diet changes you are proposing will be good for your depression. There is a lot of research coming out now that diet changes make a big difference. My understanding is that a Mediterranean style diet has had good results in several studies.

Check out this quick video if you get a chance. She explains a bit about eating to assist with depression. She is actually on the diet right now and posted an update about her progress the other day. She's down 13 lbs in 43 days. I like a doctor that follows their own advice!
