I am sure the stress is not helping the situation.

That's awesome!!! That is some strong support there that you don't need one. I don't know you sister's intentions, but it must be scary and hurtful to be dealing with this, especially if you don't need a guardian and don't trust her to be yours. I hope things continue to go in this direction for you!
Thanks for this!

Just a thought, and I know it's complicated because she's family - but can you take her to court to try to get reimbursed for any medical fees you've paid due to this situation? Along those lines, I would try to get monetary compensation for pain and suffering. This way, she won't ever try this again. Hugs to you! I am sorry you are going through this!

You and I both knew your Pdoc and T would be writing letters on your behalf.

Your going to need time to decide if you want your sister back in your life and to what degree. Only YOU can decide what is best. I do think she will want to act like nothing has happened in a few weeks time... but you have gone through hell during all this nonsense.

I would say take time to decide and not feel rushed regardless of how she’s acting.

I've been off the boards for almost a month. My psychiatrist thinks this site is destructive for me. I'll stick to writing books. But on this subject I have an insight to make.

I had a guardian ad leitum appointed for me when I was institutionalized for an extended period of time. You are assigned this type of guardian when you have no family and you are so ill you can't take care of yourself. They are a total strangers making intimate life decisions for you. It's a profoundly hopeless place to be in.

Halliebeth, you have someone in your life who loves you enough to want to want to put your feet on a healing path. This court battle is not a picnic for her either. If you think you can make more healing choices in the future without her assistance than do it. Otherwise, let her help you find that path.

You are young. You have a promising future ahead of you. Maybe you can go to college and pick a career that heals people or makes a difference in the world. Maybe you can get married and bring a little bit more love into the world. Maybe you can open up to the glory of creation and soak in its immense wonder and awe and find inspiration in it. Whatever your future holds, it will be beautiful. You need to give yourself the opportunity to make it happen.

You can make the decisions necessary to bring about that healing future or you can accept your sister's help and let her help you find that healing path

I've read a lot of your posts. You have the capacity to do great things in the world. Don't waste that gift.

Shalom

Is it possible to stop helping to take care of your sister's kids?

Well ... when Hallie has needed IP she drives herself because her Sister won’t even offer. Her Sister also didn’t even take her to the hospital for surgery, she asked a neighbor.

So it’s pretty obvious she manages life just fine on her own.

If it were possible to formalize the help Hallie provides for granny as paid assistance to an elderly or disabled person (paid by the state - I do not know about KY, but I know people in California are able to make such arrangements with respect to caring for elderly relatives), then there might even be a stipend from the state for that care and it would be obvious that it is Hallie helping granny and not vice versa.

I do everything for myself. I admit myself to ip when my suggests or I am unsafe. I pay all my bills. I schedule and attend all my Appointments alone. and I help take care of my granny.

My sister doesn’t do **** for me!
