I took several college courses my senior year. I took 'survival skills' because it got me out of first period every day and I could sleep in an hour longer. I didn't really have any expectations going in. This class taught all of the basics for survival in the wilderness with limited or no supplies. We learned how it felt to be dehydrated and to go without food. We learned how to build effective shelters from nature. We learned how to navigate using the land and the sun and we learned how to read the land to find water and food. It was by far the most valuable class I've ever taken.

not really. I don't have them.
question: are you supersticious? (black cats, mirrors, etc) |

As a matter of fact, I am. I am obsessed with everything in my life being associated with an even number. For example, when I'm riding my bike, I often count pedal strokes to distract me from the pain. But it can only be an even number, almost always a 4 or a 10. If I'm at the store buying pears, I have to buy either two or four--never, ever three. Of course, I live on the third floor...
Have you ever been to Barcelona?

ditto this. I can not stand odd numbers it's especially bad when you go to buy groceries and you realise that the pack of what ever you're buying has an odd number of items in it (I can't do it, even if I got 2). I feel really guilty if I walk out with an odd number. big issue over here and it does mean that I spend more than I have sometimes something else: I'm attached to the number 8, so if possible, I try to get things in 8 (but also 2's). 1 pack of 8 won't do shopping is a nightmare |

Q: Beyond bare necessities, what kinds of things have you splurged on (for money) for pleasure purposes?
I honestly can't think of anything. I'm a pretty practical shopper. Even this computer was purchased with gift cards and I only paid $40 because it was on sale as well. I do splurge on presents for my nieces; most recently a balance beam for one and a pile of books and Harry Potter stuff for the other. Q: Have you ever used a weighted blanket?

A: So crazy that you mention that because my last google search was 'weighted blankets.' I want to get one, as sleep is a nightmare for me. They are kinda expensive, though.

Q: What time in the morning is the ideal time for you to get up? |

A: Given my current workout schedule of starting my ride at 0430 (the reason is to avoid traffic), 0330 would probably be about right. It's usually much earlier, though.
Q: If you were going out for a casual walk and you didn't care what you looked like, what shoes would you wear?

Flip flops. I pretty much live in my flip flops. If it was winter I'd wear my Crocs tennis shoes. They are very comfy. I'd only wear my workout shoes if I was planning to jog or do a lot of hills.

Q: I’d have a cat if strata would allow it. What kind of pet do you have or wish you had?
