My husband and I have been doing a lot of online grocery shopping, as well. We order from both Whole Foods (through Amazon) and another online grocer called Fresh Direct, out of NYC, each once per week when we can procure a delivery time/day, which isn't always easy. Each lacks some products that the other has, therefore the two. We (or I) do also quickly run in and out of our local grocery store or CVS about once per week. Again, for product(s) not available through online purchase. We've also gone to Home Depot a couple times for some gardening stuff that our local grocery store doesn't have. Also, the liquor store for hubby. Very few grocery stores sell liquor in my area. There have always been separate liquor stores. For a while, it was curbside pickup from online orders. Now they let people go into the store again, if desired. Masks are still required in my state.

Q: What shop(s) or restaurant(s) have you missed going to since the pandemic started?

Bike shops used to be fun for me to browse and look around.

Do you know much about WW 2 or are you at all interested in it? I don't know very much. I did lose a great uncle to it. I have always felt that those allies, including the then-Soviet Union, literally saved the planet. So, I have been learning more about it. I never, ever cry. But reading about these men and women and what they sacrificed for each of us, for the entire world--it brings me to tears. Every time.

honestly I wish I knew more about it.

I know when it started, and I know when it ended- also a few years ago when I was in hospital I met someone who had served in world war 2 and he was quite interesting to talk to and had a lot to share about life back then

I love history. my favorite true event in history is the sinking of the titanic (I find it facinating), but the great fire of london too, and even theories about jack the ripper.. yeah. history was always a favorite subject even at school.

so history question:

if you had a time machine, and could travel to anywhere in history, where would you go and why?

I'd visit herstory or better yet, their story. His story has been on repeat for millennia and I'm over it.

Do you budget your money strictly, or just pay for whatever comes up as it does and hope for the best?

Since I got married, it has been the "whatever comes up as it does and hope for the best". We used to have plenty of money to get away with this, but after my disability, not so much. My husband has mostly handled all our finances because for some reason he decided I was unreliable, which is totally unfair. Actually, despite me being the one with bipolar disorder, my husband is the one more into frivolous spending. I am frugal, with simple requirements, about most everything except groceries. I could live with just a few changes of clothing, in a small space with little on the walls, but couldn't live with eating Top Ramen.

Q: What do you like to spend your money on most?

We answered at the same time, raging vortex. The next person can answer either question. As for yours, yes. I am very good at geography. US/North American and European geography, definitely. Asian, as well, except maybe a few of the "stans" I might mix up. Probably better than most on Central/South America, Middle East and Africa, etc (no offense to the etc). Major lifetime interest in all of this, and extensive travel.

Questions above (raging vortex's or mine).

I could probably name the states. There are just a couple I have not seen yet. Maine. South Carolina. One or two others.

I don't have really any disposable income any more, I have a lot of responibilities to support a fair number of people. If I ever have a tiny bit left, I might be something little for my bike or my guitars, new socks or strings or something. Once a month, I get takeout pizza or something as a special treat. Other than that, it is a strict budget. So funny, when working, money was really a non-issue. Not boasting in the least, but one really bad bp day, I drove down to the BMW dealership and impulsively spent a ridiculous sum on a new M3. You know what? It did not make me feel better in the least... Money never made me happy--ever.

Are you currently proud of your country? Conflicted? Not proud?

I am proud of Scotland.... we have a good country here. I'm proud of how the First Minister of Scotland has handled COVID 19 she isn't bowing down to the numpties in England. We are still completely in lockdown until at least next Thurs (28th). We are a proud nation be it you want independence from UK or not. I'm proud of my Scottish roots.

Question: How are you faring up in society now with whatever measures your government has put in place in regards to COVID 19?

In America, I would answer by saying we are still in the first inning, of 9, but since you are in Scotland, I will simply offer that we are in the fifteenth minute or so of 90. The Trump Coalition's pressure to deny science has resulted in most states opening up before any infectious disease expert of any skill level would ever approve of. So, we are headed for a disastrous late fall and winter of far, far more deaths due to COVID here. In the long run, this typical short-term thinking will harm the US and therefore, world, economies much more severely than had we simply done the sceintifically advised thing in the first place. And before you complain that I am a typical blue-stater, I am, in fact, a lifelong Republican from extremely rural Texas. There is no redder place on the planet.

Do you like Winnie The Pooh and if so, which character is your favorite?

I could say my kids, of course, but truly, when you get down to the last and final and by far biggest thing for me, it is love for my creator. Despite all I have been through, the severe illness we have all experienced, surviving torture, 5 years in a hideous state hospital, I am closer to God than I have ever been--by miles and miles. I cannot even begin to express how much I love Him for what He has done for all of us and does each and every day. So grateful for him.

Favorite animated movei of all time? Mine is Coraline.

That's a good one, too. Amazingly enough, I have never read a Harry Potter book. I am a huge Robert Galbraith fan, though--that is the pseudonym Rolwing uses when writing her mystery/thriller series. Really outstanding writer. Brilliant.

Seen any good movies lately?

Yes. Though an older movie from 1987, last night I watched "Ironweed" starring Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep. Great performances, great story, and directing! Nicholson and Streep were nominated for Oscars for that movie. They played homeless alcoholics. Nicholson's character also had schizophrenia. The story went beyond those simple facts, though.

Q: Have you seen a movie or TV show that grossly misrepresented a mental illness? What were its major shortcomings, in that respect? Any mental illness.

Too many to enumerate. Most of those who try to tackle the topic just go sort of archetypal, cliche stuff, I guess, has been my observation. There are obviously some good ones, terrific ones. I thought Gia was absolutely superb, for example. I know you and many others were quite impressed with the recent Joker film. For some reason, I found it to be pretty trite and actually sort of marginalizing and labeling and improperly stereotyping of us. This sort of nonsensical drive toward random violence. Not sure why that was my reaction, but it was, for whatever set of reasons.

Current favorite actress?

I did like Joker, but felt that mental illness was just a small side story in that movie. I saw it as making a much more political and socialogical statement. I felt the use of a mental illness in that story was more as an analogy. One that just so happened to work better than if the movie's hero had cancer. Perhaps if the mental illness in that movie was more familiar and accurately portrayed, it would have fail in its intended purpose. Obviously, for some it failed and others not.

I did not see the Joker as the bad character in that movie. The figurative "Wayne's" were the bad ones. People can just forget about the whole Joker portrayal in all the Batman comic books and mega money making movies. It is common for the oppressed to be portrayed as bad. Frig Batman! I sympathized with the Joker, in this case! Those who didn't, did not get the movie in the way I did. Many who didn't could be the same oppressed that vote for their oppressors. The question will be, when do those people realize their real oppressors and revolt?

I just saw the movie. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about it.

Just an alternate perspective, but for me there is no bad guy. There's judgment of polarization. I think both sides demonstrate the effects of imbalance. The forgotten and then the stars who are rats. Does anybody naturally seek to be either? Can we integrate both and find a way forward? The one or the other mentality is not the only choice. Revolution also means to spin around. I'm bored with this loop. I feel it is time to shift course altogether. I choose neither. And both.

What is your favorite BBQ/grill food?

Ah, well, I guess being the good Oregon boy I have become, probably a freshly caught, fat Chinook from the Pacific or one of our rivers, cooked whole on the grill. I like to stuff it with a bunch of lemon slices and maybe onion. Some nice dill sauce. Big bunch of people and a nice party. Eat out on the patio. Something like that. Oh boy...

What is the physically most beautiful place you have ever visited?

being single.

I have never been interested in relationships (in the slightest), and thankfully no one is interested in me either

I just enjoy being single. being able to do what I want, when I want, with no drama, or arguements, etc

I know relationships mean a lot to a lot of people, but no... I am happy with the single life. more than happy with it.

question: how many medications did you try before you found something that works. (are you still looking?)

For me, it is no one medication. It is a cocktail. My current cocktail is the best of the lot, but I do not credit my medications for all of my current situation. Therapeutic success and other factors contribute. It is impossible to come up with a number on this. If asked how many different psych medications I have been on over the years, the answer is over 25.

Q: Have you ever slept in a tent? Or really "roughed it"?

Yeah back in 2002 I went camping at the foot of Ben Nevis in Scotland with my best friend it was amazing and we road the Harry Potter train too.

Then in 2003 I completed The Duke Of Edinburgh Bronze Award in which I had to camp as a final tester. It's all about leadership, map reading etc. We climbed Glen Esk and Glen Prosen small ish lol hills in Scotland. It was amazing I did have some fun stories from those thrips though

Question: If it's nice weather where you are, are you enjoying it by sitting outside soaking up the rays?
