That sounds terrifying for you both! I am sorry you experienced that. I woke up from anesthesia once and had a laryngospasm, and I didn't know where I was and was unable to breathe or tell them, but fortunately it passed quickly and the nurse was beside me. It was really scary and now I tell the anesthesiologist about that so they're aware and ready in case it happens again.

Ugh that is really annoying, and a lot of money to lose! That is good you're going to talk to them.

I'll try to clarify at my next session. She also said it might help if she could talk to my psychiatrist to discuss my situation and I think I like the idea, but then I remembered that my psychiatry notes are available to other doctors and I don't want my therapy stuff in my medical chart. Not sure that's how it would happen, but I need to look into it first.

I agree about the glasses! I wish my insurance covered them. Sorry to hear your husband broke his glasses. Unexpected expenses are no fun. Hope you are doing okay all things considered. I have to go back and catch up on everyone's life this past week or so.

I hope things with current T work out.. yes psych meds follow us around and often screws us over. Life shouldn’t be difficult

I’m sorry ... seems we are always in a hurry up and wait situations.

Distraction is a great coping skill ! If posting here helps please do... there are times I have made a thread asking for help , ideas or just an ear

I've put some structure into my days and good things are happening. There is less of that awful sense of being out-of-control and the day being chaos.

How scary! Your point about communicating such a past experience is a great one. I've thought that I should definitely do the same if/when I ever need anesthesia again. I know little about anesthesia, but my guess is that the anesthesiologist miscalculated the required dose for me. I think she even told me the dose would be adjusted.

Big hugs to you, too, yellow_fleurs!

Honestly, I had to just take an Ativan. I'm sweating and my face is turning red just reading about these.

Apparently it was then that the anaesthesiologist gave me something additional in the mix going in my IV and it sent me into a deeper sleep. I know this because he came to talk to me after I woke up in Recovery.

After all that, I am feeling better.
I’m glad you are feeling better but how traumatizing! I’m sorry this happened to you. Were you able to talk to the anesthesiologist to describe what happened?

Yeah, he actually came to me after I'd woken up and described to me what he had witnessed, asking what my experience was and what I last remembered talking about. He said we had a brief conversation about rollerskates, but I don't recall any of that.

I only wash my hair twice a week unless I’m getting all sweaty. Washing it more often is actually bad for your hair

I am really stressed out and frustrated it. My pdoc called all my prescriptions to my mail order pharmacy, but 2 of my prescriptions need to be picked up at a retail pharmacy since they are 30 day prescriptions. I sent her a text message last night, and she said next time to remind her, but that she would resend. However, I checked this morning, and they said they have not received a response from her. The text from her was after pharmacy hours, so maybe she is doing it today? I just thought the pharmacy would get a response from her by now. I guess I just need to give it more time? I have a few pills left of the one, but I get extremely anxious when I need to contact my pdoc about these issues, because it makes me feel like I am a. bothering her and b. tmakes me feel irresponsible, although it is her job. I was so stressed I had to take a Xanax last night to calm down and klonopin today. Hopefully it gets sorted out by Monday, because I hate having to reach out to her about these errors.

xRavenx, have you called your brick and mortar pharmacy to describe this situation? They may be able to give you a few more pills to hold you over. Or maybe even something else.
