I don't know whether to laugh or cry ! Someone from the podiatrist's office called this morning. She said that my appt. today was cancelled by mistake, and that I can come in at the scheduled time. I am so pissed - but I'll take this as a good sign. *sigh*

Saw podiatrist. He's so kind and gentle. We discussed options and decided the first one is a cortisone shot. I'm not afraid of needles. It pinched and is pretty sore now, but all I'm doing is hoping and praying it works.

After this, 1 more shot. If there's still unbearable pain...surgery. I so hope it doesn't come to surgery.

Buying a camera is a good goal , it will allow you to capture beautiful things. Could be a wonderful coping skill, stress ? Get out camera , distraction.

Great news at podiatrist office I hope the shots fix things and no surgery needed.

Back to my purpose for keeping this log...

Aside from the tremor, I have no complaints about Latuda. It's certainly helping my moods in that they are less severe. Negative mind states are less intense. I'm still doing my best to get through the darn anxiety that is ever-present.

Tremor still severe, the worst in hands, but also occurring in other parts of my body (feet, shoulders, jaw). 2 nights of 4mg Cogentin hasn't helped, so far.

HI!

I am sorry you are still having such severe tremors. I am concerned for you. Very concerned. I need to read through to see if your pdoc has tried to address this in any way or not. If my pdoc tried and could not help the tremor, esp the severity and the locations you describe, I would be calling neurology pronto. In all honesty, even if I had found Latuda helpful, I would start coming off of it if it has started these tremors.

To be even more honest, I would be tapering off of any med which might have the potential for creating these severe tremors.
TD is a horrible condition to live with. I know of 3 people with TD. Every single one of them wants "out" of this life more than ever.
They have each been affected for btw 2 and 3 years now. One woman is seeing some symptom let up a little after 3 years.

I absolutely know you are a very intelligent woman. I hope you will take my post in the spirit intended. I am truly very concerned about you and these tremors.

Much Love

Thank you, WC. You are so kind.

It's odd...I didn't feel like my pdoc dealt much with the tremor problem...I'm concerned, too. She was away the previous week and will be gone next week. It's unusual for her to be away...she seemed more focused on wherever she's going that on our appointment.

She suggested Propanolol, but couldn't get the computer to cooperate (???)...seems she could have written out a script, I don't know.

My tremor history is long. I have had a slight hand tremor since childhood; it came from having had scarlet fever. The tremor became worse when I began taking psych meds. So I did have it long before Latuda. That said, since starting Latuda the tremor has markedly worsened.

To be even more honest, I would be tapering off of any med which might have the potential for creating these severe tremors.

How very sad. I'm so sorry.

Oh...I appreciate your concern very much. I'm touched by it, and taking it seriously. My plan is to take the 4mg Cogentin for a couple more nights and see if there's any tremor reduction. If there isn't, as much as I hate to do so, I will drop the Latuda dose from 100 to 80.

I'll see pdoc in 10 days. If the tremor is still as severe as it is now I'll be assertive about bringing it to her attention. I am worried about TD, plus shaking like this does not feel right.

Much Love
Much love to you, too, WC

Adjusted plan. Cannot tolerate this tremoring any more. It's actually keeping me from sleeping. Going to decrease the Latuda today from 100 to 80 and continue 4mg Congentin.

This is so frustrating; aside from the tremor I've been doing really well on the Latuda. Trying to keep a positive outlook though, and fingers crossed the 80mg works.

Also, will take a walk down to the corner and back. Not being in chronic foot pain is definitely decreasing my depression!

Took 80mg Latuda yesterday & will do so today. Had a surprising bought of withdrawal today (nausea, dizziness), so slept for many hours.

Tremor is the tiniest bit better. Fingers crossed for much better tomorrow.

Hopefully 80mg of Latuda is your sweet spot - a high enough dose to get what you want and low enough for the tremors to stop.

I don't know how to delete this thread, so I'm just going to stop posting on it after this post. I'm very embarrassed about a member's complaint about members who create a long thread the focuses on their own problem(s). My purpose in posting this thread was as a timeline to monitor my "AP journey", just until I am stable on one.

I'm not very tech oriented, so don't know where else, or how else, to post such a thread...especially one that is only six to eight weeks long. I know there's Mood Tracker, but I get really anxious when I do mood tracking.

For me, this is a helpful way to keep track of my med (specifically Latuda) adjustment until I'm stable on it. And I do find single-member threads interesting and helpful. But now I feel so self-conscious, it's not worth it.

Although I didn't expect the support I've received on this thread (support was not my purpose in starting this thread), I sure do appreciate it.

Guess there's the good old pen and paper!

I post threads about myself all the time. They are helpful. Especially to lurkers and people learning about the illness. Please don't let others deture you. I understand if you close this thread but I have found it helpful.

I see zero need to close your thread. Your still dealing with trouble on a medication.

The thread you speak of was discussed and DocJohn chimed in that he sees no problem with threads like this.

Of course do what you feel is best for you. But base your decision solely on how you and you alone feel

Thanks so much, dear ladies. You're so kind. I'm kinda hurting over this one...embarrassed. Think I'll take a few days and decide then whether I really need this thread, or not. Love all around.

Thank you, Guiness

It should have been in bipolar treatments so others can find some info in it. I want to record my AP journey with Latuda - but also help others who might want AP info.

Please don't feel you have to stop. I personally like threads by one person; it me know that person a little better. I may not post on the thread but I do read them daily.

If you want to move to the treatment section just use the triangle thing on any post to "report" it and there will be a box that you can request it be moved.
