Saw surgeon again today to check on progress in healing. The area around my belly button was very stiff and dark. He cut into me to get to the infection. It was kind of deep. He did numb me with lidocaine but I barely respond to that stuff. I felt all the cutting with the scalpel and jamming the gauze in there and pulling them out. I'm almost as sore as when I left hospital. That now also has to be packed, so that's two spots on my belly. I'm back to hurting with every breath. This has my depression so high right now. I cried throughout a nap earlier. I'm having a hard time with this. I was feeling better and was getting more mobile and now that's gone again.

I am sorry, Sorry. It is a setback, for sure. But you can do it. You will make it through. That kind of packing and stuff really will not slow down the overall healing time all that much, in the end. I know it is a pain in the *****, but you will get there. Hang in there. Don't give up. It's hard, but you can make it.

Hugs, love, and support!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry that you're not feeling well after that procedure. You'll get back to where you were!

At least I stopped crying constantly. Imagine a paper cut that opens every time you bend your knuckle except the cut is one and a half inches wide, two inches deep and opens with every breath. Almost 16 inches of gauze got stuffed into two directions earlier when we changed it because it had leaked, plus the first hole. I don't know how to cope with this

I'm so sorry this is happening. It is truly awful and there isn't much I can offer. The only time I was in unbearable pain was during childbirth and I passed out several times because I couldn't take it. Eventually I overcame the pain and just pressed through it, but your circumstances are occuring for much longer on the heels of an already lengthy and grueling journey. My heart goes out to you.

I am hopeful some of our members who deal with incredible body pain often will have some coping ideas for you. Keep visualizing what life will be like when you are free of this. You will get there.

I pet an animal and see that they are concerned for me. They provide comfort. Visualizing the eventual end of this is good advice. I'll try that more often

If you like animals and can get to a puter, Hope For Paws has inspiring youtube videos of animal resuces. They make me feel good.

Sorryshaped> I'm happy for you , you found a way to help make you feel better. Petting gentle animals can be quite therapeutic. I love it when I pet my sister and my BIL's 2 zuchons and Cockapoo. Hoping your petting animals make u feel good.
