I am having lots of muscle twitches this past week. Could it be med related? I was wondering if it was haldol- just as a wild guess. It's really annoying to have these muscle twitches especially at night.

Yes, from my experience it is a common thing. I've just gone back on Elavil and I have twitches. I had a severe reaction of my tongue twisting and couldn't speak many years ago after being injected with haldol- please talk to your doctor as there are meds to counteract these effects I believe, back then, in my country it was called cogentin? It almost instantly reversed that scary effect. Best wishes Moose

Are you drinking enough ??? and being low on Potassium can cause that.

Most people do not drink enough .. Say a person weighs 150 lbs they should drink a minimun of 75 to 150 oz of water.

I drink at least a gallon of water a day and thats 128 ounces

I've got bananas- arent they high in potassium? I drink milk and coffee but not a lot of water. I could make more sun tea and drink that.

Banana's actully dont have as much potassium as one thinks, they have about 450mg daily intake of P should be 4,700mg a day

I take a OTC suppliment , my husband has to take prescription strength..

Fluid can be anything not just water but of course soda and fruit juice have lots of sugar. We drink unsweet tea and water.

I love drinking my coffee with milk. I rarely drink soda or fruit juice. I love unsweatened tea.

I love coffee, too, but I've heard that it's dehydrating. Plain water is so important- I've found that I need to drink a lot of water when on an AP.

Anyway, yes, I have had twitches from meds. It could be the Haldol. Do you have tremors? I've always thought that twitches and tremors are kind of the same thing (a med side effect), but I don't know for sure.

I've had (have) twitches and tremors. I think it's caused by a combination of Seroquel and lithium. I had tremors on lithium before I started Seroquel but it got worse after I started that. It seems to be worse after exercise. I've always drank almost exclusively water (just a habit, not fanaticism) and never alcohol or coffee, but since I'm on lithium and other meds I especially make it a point to abstain from those.

Ahhhh, water! My finger and thumb have been jumping today and my skin is dry. But I haven’t been drinking water. It’s not like I don’t have any, I have two cartons of water in the garage, but,....eh. Been getting apathetic lately, and quiet. I stare at the wall for long stretches holding a book but not reading.

Yes I have tremors. They were worse when on Lithium but my hands do shake a little still. That makes sense that twitches and tremors are related.

That's the thing: my skin is not dry. My elbows are very soft. In thewinter they get dry and flakey.

I’ve had this really bad tremor in my arm lately. Don’t know why could be from meds. I’ve also had the urge to smile a lot lately. I can’t tell why. Kinda feels like a muscle twitch. I also think I’m just being a prick half the time.

There for awhile, I assume it was med related, at night my leg would jerk a lot. It only seemed to happen when I was laying down at night. It was rather frustrating.

Another thing that only started happening after my medicine, is in the morning, or when I’ve lied down for awhile— when I stretch, my legs will shake, typically my right one. Quick, spastic type of shaking. The kind you can’t replicate willingly. It can be kind of violent sometimes the shaking....

Anyway, the latter may not be med related but it certainly wasnt something I experienced before
