Do you wear shoes in your house?
I have house shoes/ slippers, which are like slip-on Birkenstocks. Growing up, my parents didn't mind if we wore outdoor shoes inside. However, my husband, a Czech, grew up having mandatory house shoes, so we continue that at our home. He even had to wear designated indoor shoes at school. I'm used to this custom now. I also had to comply with a similar one when I lived in Asia.

How often do you clean your floors?

No. I don't even know what sleep training is. But I know how to sleep already, so I don't think I need training.

their version of you raise me up is something to get excited about. it is very good

as it you are my hiding place, god bless the broken road and gentle healer.

btw: this did register (I'm quoting your first post), I think maybe they just asked the same question to see other's favorite singers. I know people have asked the same question before.

It has been so long ago that I don't remember. Maybe not the last, but close to the last was "A Star is Born" with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. I really liked it. The ending could be triggering for some, though.

What movie made you cry the most?

steuart little

a mouse isn't wanted, eventually gets adopted by a family (where the brother doesn't like him, and nor does the cat)

fake family comes to pick him up and takes him home, then they tell him of the plan, so he sets off back to the house. cat still hates him, and tells him that the family were so glad when he left and took down the picture and burned it

but eventually kitty changes his mind and helps him get back to the house where all the family want to see him

makes me cry with happyness and sadness at the same time- the saddest moment for me is when little brother george gives him his favorite toy car before he leaves for the first time

and the music makes it emotional to. I have yet to watch that without looking away

in second place, nim's island- that poor girl being left stranded when her father was at sea.

in third place- life size (or at least the end of life size). when the doll has to go back to plastic because the spell's run out..... omg. I need to look away

question in reverse now: which movie do you watch when you need cheering up?

I don't watch movies, don't have the attention span to sit for over an hour and stare at a screen doing nothing else but watch. Just thinking about it sounds painful.

Have you had any coffee yet?

I like halloween, and the reasons I like halloween are

1. it's the only holiday that I can think of that isn't stressful to prepare for

2. it's only 1 day- and after that it's over

and 3- it's okay to be alone for it. unlike things like christmas where it's traditional to be with family or friends (something I don't have), I feel like the holiday is more geared to me

plus: I love candy, and what better day to eat lots of candy loll

their's lots of things I like about christmas, but it all just feels so empty in the end- no one to buy me gifts. no one to share the turkey with. no one to look at the tree.

last electrical appliance that broke down/ got replace

I purchased a "personal blender" (i.e., smoothie maker) and absolutely loved it! Had it for 10 days and the blades stopped turning I returned it and bought one no more expensive, but much sturdier. What a useful little blender!

How many psychiatrists have you been a patient of?

Unfortunately the health service is shocking here in Scotland. In 7 years I saw 25 Psychiatrists.

Question: How would you explain bipolar to someone who doesn't know what it is?

I suppose I would start with the basics - mood extremes. Depression is something that most people understand. Letting people know that the depression can become disabling also registers with some people. As for hypomania/mania, I would put the emphasis on extremely high energy, euphoria or extreme unwarranted anger/irritability, inability to sleep, and disinhibited and impulsive behavior. Again, to either troubling or disabling levels. If the person still didn't "get" the manic end as overly dsyfunctional, I'd start comparing it to the experience a person may have on cocaine, but without the cocaine. Psychosis and psych hospitalization is at its worst. I'd also say that bipolar disorder is a treatable brain illness, though sometimes with difficulties. Not a choice or personality trait.

What was the most pleasant thing you smelled recently?
Thanks for this!

Go, Dog, Go!

We used to read that to our kids most nights when they were wee things.

Do you live in a place where there is snow and, if so, do you like it?
