It all depends. If I'm manic, I can't stand noise. Sudden noises cause me great alarm. Even being aware of some others that are coming and having time to brace for them aren't enough. Worst ones: Garbage disposals.

Q: Do bright lights bother you? Like the sun?

They really do, most of the time. I tend to always seek shade and wear sunglasses outside. I have even developed silent migraines at times from bright light. If I am outside too much, I can be vulnerable to developing hypomania or even mania. At night, I need my room to be as dark as possible to sleep well. I dislike flickering lights from the TV, laptop, or even my phone. My eyes are particularly sensitive at night. I had my husband install a special light dimmer switch in my bathroom so if I need to go there late at night, I need not put the lights on all of the way.

What is something you are sensitive to (physically)?

20 minutes. He's good at giving me the whole 20. Sometimes it goes over slightly. When I have an emergency appointment, he schedules 45/50 minutes. I know he gives his brand new patients the longer appointment, initially. He is also good at calling me back, when I need to call him. He is willing, sometimes, to make minor medication modifications via phone call.

Which do you look forward to more, your psychiatrist or therapist appointment? Why?

No way! I truly dislike anything cigarette-like and dislike being in a room/house, or even outside, next to someone smoking any kind of cigarette. It always reaches me and it makes me cough. As for the effects of weed, I tried it only twice. One time I barely tried it, and had no positive effect for me. The second time, I hallucinated in a very uncomfortable way. My nephew used to be a heavy smoker and it landed him in the psych hospital. They even diagnosed him with schizophrenia. Later down the line they realized that it was the weed, not schizophrenia. He hasn't smoked it since then. Years.

Do you feel that you get enough support in life?

Deep down, I prefer being outside, but I have found myself to be an inside dweller for several years. In one respect I prefer inside, but the true me below any "stuff" loves outdoors. I think I might prefer the outdoors again if in the right place(s).

If you could eat anything right now, without need for guilt, what would it be?

Really dread it, but feel its crucial to be actively involved. It gives me the worst anxiety and really brings my heart down.

Going to vote this November?

Of course! Voting is extremely extremely extremely important. All of the people who don't vote, only hurt themselves and others. Sorry to sound tough about this, but it's the truth.

Do you feel like the social environment in your country now is a good one or full of stress/distress?

A little bit. Not to play it, but to occasionally watch it. I like it a whole lot more than basketball or American football. I do like baseball, but think soccer is nicer in that it is faster-paced. It's fun listening to soccer game commentators for Spanish or Portuguese-speaking countries. The excitement is thrilling. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a particular sport you dislike(d) playing?

I was terrible at golf. I was never going to make it work.
