The $600 check, I received it literally after everyone I know had received theirs. I think a whole group of people are just the last ones to receive their checks. Who in the world knows how the IRS determines who is first, middle, last.

For those yet to receive stimulus checks, I'd like to share something I heard on MSNBC (Rachael Maddow). Yes, I now have access to some US TV in Europe. Apparently some on Social Security still waiting for the checks are far from alone. It had been noted and according to Rachael, there was a demand for an explanation and that the info the IRS needed be sent immediately. It has been as of this week, and that the remaining checks in this category should be processed soon. Note the quote below, including what I underlined. Rachael and the Yahoo article explained what appears to have happened. Disconcerting.

The article Stimulus checks: Payment blockage resolved for nearly 30 million Social Security recipients mentioned:

"The delay affects Social Security recipients and other beneficiaries who did not file their 2019 or 2020 taxes or did not use the IRS 'Non-Filer' tool for direct payments. The IRS is now working on updating the information for the rest of the eligible federal benefit recipients. The IRS did not respond to a request by Yahoo Money on exact timing of the delayed payments."

The article states that that is the clear assumption. The SS Commissioner is a Trump appointee. It is pretty well known that that party wants to limit SS and do anything they can to create chaos. Sort the same as what's going on in the US Postal Service.

Nowadays, huge mega corps buy smaller companies only with the intention of destroying them. It's a nasty world out there.

People don't deserve such abuse.

Thanks for the articile Buddha. I can't read it because I"m not subscribed to Washington Post but I did see enough to assume it was saying SSDI payments will be out by April 7. I hope so.

My God, no one should still be waiting! I certainly hope that none of you have to wait past the coming week.

Haha, I’ve no money to buy your Florida land! Altogether the stimulus checks just about covered the bill for my hearing aid s. But I did spurge and ordered a new bath robe, mine in getting pretty threadbare. They just don’t make them like this anymore. But I found one that looks nice in a color I can tolerate. Why oh why do they thing all woman wear pink! I ordered one I found in black but it was too small. So this one is dark royal purple.

My father needs hearing aids, & I was absolutely shocked to discover how much they cost! Medicare doesn't cover them, either. Criminal. I'm glad you were able to splurge on a royal purple bathrobe, though. I'm sure Queen Elizabeth has one just like it.
