The police still have my Mum. Hoping her body will be released tomorrow. The funeral can be next week as booked. They are doing a visual post mortem on Mum tomorrow.

Had to write the Eulogy that was tough. The news paper clipping acknowledgement and also the online acknowledgement too. The last one is where the link to the online Web cast will be (morbid I know) but due to covid we are only allowed minimum numbers

I don't find the webcast morbid, I think it's a wonderful idea for everyone who would want to attend the funeral.

We did the webcast thing for my family member's memorial service in May. He died in December and was cremated and we waited until May to allow more people to be at the service. We did an outdoor memorial and posted it on Zoom for those who couldn't or didn't want to come to the in person thing. We weren't restricted by the government then, just our own caution, but it worked out very well for people to be able to choose what they wanted to do. If it had been in December we wouldn't even have had the minimum family at the service because of the restrictions.

I hope it all goes well and that the service gives you peace.

It's so much to do right square in the middle of all that shock and heartache. They didn't offer the Webcast thing for my mom, but it would have been nice. There were a lot of people who loved her but couldn't come because restrictions. But all those pictures you have to gather and the obit... yeah, it's just a lot. Hope you're taking care of yourself the best you can and that it's not hard with the rest of your family. Holding all good thoughts for you

Mum's body is being released today Friday 16th July. We took in clothes for Mum yesterday. We took in pictures for the order of service and we added another song so we have 4 songs to play. 1 to go into, 1 for reflection, 1 for her coffin to be lowered and 1 to come out of crematorium to. This was hard as she loved music and singing. Unsure if we picked the right songs. We can change anything up until Tues. We are to decide if we want to walk behind the hearse or not. My Brother wasn't keen on it so we said it's a 4 way thing we either all do it or none of us do it. We need to be united. My Dad needs to register her death today but cause its not face to face due to covid he needs to make them aware then get an appt. So he has that to do today we have The Celebrant calling us today. Just to kinda ask more questions. What we sent her she loved. It showed my Mum in a great light the goofy, quirky, funny Mum she was.

Still can't believe she is gone.

Well today has arrived.... Mum's funeral. In 3 hours she will be laid to rest. I'm emotional. Been up since 4am I'm not sleeping anyways. Its not 6:38am. Had a shower just away to blow dry my hair now my Dad is up. Today is going to be very weird and very emotional and very surreal. Meeting my Mum's family from another city will be OK though. Loads of people have said the same thing "your Mum's infectious smile and laugh. Your Mum was a ray of sunshine" apparently I look like my Mum. Which has kinda comforted me. Oh well best get moving. My Brother is arriving in under 2 hours that's if Mr late is on time lol!

I am so sorry for your loss, Miss Laura. My mother died 5 years ago and I know it is a very difficult situation to deal with.

Just wanted to say, if there's anything to say at this time: talk about her. With your family, with your friends, remember her and her life. I found many people want to avoid the subject because they think it is insensitive to bring up death, but the best way to keep your loved one present and honoured is to remember the impact and the joy she gave you all.

Wishing you strength

The service was really nice, we had a few hiccups flowers were late arriving, service was late starting due to someone taking ill but we were all fine. We walked behind my Mum's coffin which was nice. We never got home until after 8pm. We picked up Mum's ashes on Friday. This has been weird but nice at the same time. We are all doing OK just plodding along huh!

I am so very sorry Miss Laura!

No one will ever love you like your mom did.

But it sounds like you are making all the right moves to discharge your grief, attending the funeral and laying with your mom's body with your sister before her body was removed. This latter brought tears to my eyes.

You are wise to observe all the steps in saying goodbye to your mom. I missed my brother's and mom's funerals due to physical illnesses (it doesn't rain but it pours) and i've always felt i missed an important chance to go thru the rite of passage of saying goodbye.

As said in the live outdoor mobile theater performance "C-O-N-T-A-C-T" touring North America now which you listen to on your ear-buds over your phone while you follow the actors around outside:

"We need witnesses to our pain."

Hugs,

Jane.
