I'm so tempted to delete a post I made on another forum. I was trying to be supportive, I think I was supportive. But I still want to delete it.

Has anyone here ever experienced similar? Is this feeling more common when depressed or mixed?

I usually experience brutal anxiety. That horrible feeling of being ''afraid of everything''. Sometimes it's almost....

Therapy has not helped with my anxiety. It has helped a little with other symptoms (but mostly my reading has helped, not anything any therapist has ever said...) I know I haven't found a ''good'' therapist. I have looked and looked. I will keep looking.

If it’s causing you anxiety then delete it sweet Fuzzy. If it was the one supporting me the message and the lesson was received.

The only time (pretty much) that I have deleted a post/requested that a post or posts be deleted was during the conflict that happened on this board (the BD) board a couple of weeks ago. I was very tired that day, should not have been on this forum that day, had not set good, healthy boundaries/communication prior to my posts here that day. Instead, I got very angry and just plain blew up. So yes, I asked Doc John to delete those posts, which he did.

Besides that...hmmm....I'm trying to remember. I think I've deleted only a few posts and that was because I wasn't expressing myself clearly; I was just rambling. So I thought, "Why even post this, it's pointless." So deleted.

Therapy has done very little (if anything at all) to reduce my generalized anxiety. At this time in my life I'm feeling that turning more toward my spirituality would be more effective than in therapy. BUT that's me, and that's me at (in December) age 60. At a younger age I would pursue the search for a better therapist.

Yes Fuzzy. I do think wanting to delete posts is more common in people with anxiety. Especially in people who've been affected by traumas which I've read you describe, happened to yourself. Very much so.🌸🌸🌸

I tend to want to delete posts when I'm more anxious/depressed. I think what I say will either be useless or harmful. I think when it comes to anxiety, just the act of doing something (ANYTHING) helps. Obviously try to tend to more healthy activities that'll help more in the long run.
